Ron made this statement on the show today and it is a wise one.
"It was so unwatchable I couldn't turn it off"
I do this all the time. I'll find a tv show or a movie that is so bad that I want to watch it. Is it some kind of "Entertainment masochism?" Do we, as humans prefer to have an awful, embarrassing experience than a boring one? It really is a weird thing
I don't know why we do it. All i know is, last night I could've put on "CNN" and had an 'indifferent' experience, but instead i chose to watch the Al Roker hosted "Celebrity Family Feud" with Raven-Symone's family vs. Joan River's family and that was fucking terrible and humiliating, and I watched it all

It's the same reason people slow down to gawk at a car wreck.
Or watch to see figure skaters fall on their asses.
Or applaud after someone falls/drops something, etc. ...
Schadenfreude.
(Loose definition: "I'm happy it's not me." ... it's kind of reassuring in a sick, twisted, demented sort of a way.)
I don't share the fascination for horrific TV like Celebrity Family Feud.
However, I'll watch some pretty crappy movies. (The Cutting Edge, anyone?)

You sir, are a better person than I will ever be.
I have to wait for the official transcript of the State of the Union to come out because it's impossible for me to listen to the current POTUS. Thank God he's a lame-duck or I would have to go into hibernation.
For some reason I tivo'ed that movie Smokin' Aces. I swear to God I've seen that thing 4 or 5 times now. In fact I think I might go watch it again.

About a week ago, I watched most of this really awful TV movie about the Partridge Family called "C'mon Get Happy". I think that fits.

Until I saw this picture, I didn't know it was rated triple X tho !!!
David Hasselhoff, Sharon Osbourbe & some other guy judge the talent, HA HA HA!!!
& Jerry Springer is the behind the scenes interview guy, Oy Vey!!! (he doesn't get an "X" cuz he's to busy on his feet, rockin n rollin n whatnot)

a few for me:
Battlefield Earth. i have to watch, just to see how absurdly terrible it is (especially the 'natives' flying fighter jets towards thet end ).
The Postman. The concept of post-civilization civilization is interesting enough to keep watchng, as horrible as the movie is.

shit, last weekend i was over my friends house and we watched "The Hottie and the Nottie" with Paris Hilton and that "I know who killed me" movie with Lindsay Lohan
I think when i watch a movie i just want to feel an extreme emotion. I want to watch something great or something awful. The worst movies are the movies that are "just allright". Thats why Bruckheimer movies are so bad. You can watch "Transformers" (i never saw it) and I imagine there is a couple of scenes where you go "this isn't that bad". But thats just boring to me. I only want to see one star or four star movies. I feel like i'm wasting my time with a 2 or 3 star one. I want to see a movie that I will remember and talk about later, good or bad.

Here Here!!! This was directed by Nancy Walker, BKA, Rosey on the original Bounty paper towel commecials & Rhoda's mom, Ida Morgenstern, on Rhoda which spun offa The Mary Tyle Moore Show!!! The record exec in the film, played by Paul Sand, is based on Casablanca Records founder, Neil Bogart. Even better than the film is a promo reel that made the rounds prior to the release, I think everybody in it was on coke, INCLUDING Nancy Walker, & just prattling on about how GREAT this will be & how Fun it is... It was 1 of the biggest big budget failures of it's era... Oops...

I used to listen to Rush and Hannity. I hated them, but found it nice to scream at the radio.
Also, Deep Blue Sea was such a bad movie it was great. It was entertaining to see how bad a movie could be.
Some movies are bad and you don't watch them, others are so bad you have to watch them.

My husband and son for Mother's Day got me a boxset of 150 of the WORST horror films probably ever made. They are un-fucking-watchable. But I LOVE them and can't wait to get through all of them.

Guilty. I'll watch that every time as well. Did I ever tell you why I like The Postman? I don't know whether you'll laugh or cry.
Another movie that recently been on is Jet Li's The One. With Jason Statham, Delroy Lindo and the hot Carla Gugino. Have you seen it? He smacks people around with motorcycles! It's awesomely bad.

The past five of them were the same. Like a bad college term paper plagiarized by just switching some words around. Absolute torture. I always want to pull and Elvis and put a slug in the TV.
