I saw the math teacher for the 7 and 8th grade.
I remembered him and when up and said hi. I told him my name and when I graduated. Then I asked if he still taught there... he said no.
Then he looked all up and down my arms at my tattoos and immediately turned to someone else and started talking to them walking away!
What the fuck...
Well, it was a catholic school.
And, no joke, his name is Mr. Gaynord.
lol. But he was huge so no one even thought about making fun of him.

If he's such a big bad 7th grade teacher, why isn't he teaching in public school? OH, never mind, I know why..
Because the kids in public school would cut that mother fucker if he looked at them cross eyed.. {insert smiley face w/ shank here}..

He might also not teach in public school cause his name is Mr. Gaynord.
At least someone in catholic school would get in more trouble for making fun of him.
He's teaching catholic all boys HS now...

Being a 7th-grade teacher in the Soundview section of the Boogie Down, I have first-hand experience that your statement is false. Kids are kids. Sure, kids in a public school in bad areas of the city may have a different set of problems than those in Dobbs' Ferry, but they all want a safe classroom. The main difference is the level of effort you must make to create that environment.

I was just trying to be cute... That never works though..
But it is good to know the schools have changed, because I was a 7th grade student in the Bronx..
I went to JHS 80 in district 10 durring the early 1980's and it was not this "Utopia" you speak of..Granted it was a different time and different culture, but it was still the public school system..
Between the graffiti, the "institutional green" walls and other vandalizim, it was a very depressing place to be, anyway..Being one of about four or five white(half mexican) kids didn't make things any easier..BUT...
The teachers had it the worst..I'm sure they must still have records of it somewhere so you may be able to varify what I'm saying..
I remember the dean of discipline, Mr Schnider, being beat and stabbed by a group of kids in the stairwell so badly he missed the rest of the school year..
I also witnessed two students rob a teacher at gunpoint and politely remove his new champagne colored sheepskin coat and Black and red hightop Jordans..
This crime happened right after school on the front steps..I still remember the quote..
The kid pulling the teachers sneakers off, bent over, put his face real close to the teacher's face and said, "Take it like a loss, Boss"...
The general attitude within the school was definitely that the teachers where scared shitless..

Yeah, while they are a sign of individuality and they mean something to the person; they don't really garner much respect from older people.
This is why I don't have full sleeves... I like to work in my profession and would like to continue to do so.

SO i went to school through 6th grade in Ridgefield Park, NJ. In 1st and 4th grade, I had the same teacher, Mrs Barber, who happened to live in Mahwah. She used to constantly tell me stories about her oldest son, cause his name is also Sean, though spelled like a retard. So I move up to Mahwah and years later, Im hangin at someone's house at this party. And I'm smokin an L with a few people and one of them I didn't know. My friend is like yo this is Sean. Sean Barber. Being I was really fucked up, it took me like 45 minutes to put this together. After awhile I was like oh fuck, your mom was my teacher. That just seemed kinda weird to me.
A couple weeks after this, I actually ran into Mrs Barber at 7-11 and she knew it was me. I couldn't believe it. From fuckin 4th grade. I couldnt help laughing on the inside while I was talkin to her, thinkin about how her son was smokin and drinkin and, as I found out later, doin PCP. The same little Sean she used to brag about how smart and great he was.

Wow! Sorry L! I can't believe he was that rude to you like that! Seriously, he has no manners!
I'm glad I never wasted my time with my old teachers. My 4th grade teacher NOW has a child in daycare that I see every morning when I drop my daughter off and I have never said anything to him. My friend teaches at the daycare and I confirmed with her that it is indeed his child so I decided not to say anything. I thought it would be more of an embarrassment to him that I was his student over 20 yrs ago and he and I BOTH have 4 yr olds that we are dropping off at daycare.

What, were you asking him for a job?
Smug prick. I wish RonFez.net was all there in full force to give him a piece of our minds.
It would be like the Verizon commercials, only much more odd.

It wouldn't shock me if the Catholic grammar school I went to had me excommunicated from the parish after I graduated.
Either way, don't feel bad...if I ever actually ran into any of my ex-teachers, the same thing would happen to me, too.
Only, because I was a little bastard...I think I drove most of those old ladies insane.
