Can anyone recommend things to do? I don't have any solid plans and I was hoping that someone who lives or has been there can point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.

Outside the Seattle area there are a few cool things to do if you feel like renting a car and driving through some beautiful scenery. I like to drive to Mt Rainier and drive up to the observation station where you can see the peek... it's so close you feel like you could touch it, but it's still really far away. There are whale watching trips you can pick up maybe an hour away from Seattle, maybe just a little further. The one my family and I go on when we're out there goes to San Juan Island, where we always rent mopeds and explore the island for a few hours until the whale watching boat takes you back.

Inside Seattle you have to go to Pike's Market. It's pretty famous, and just an indoor bizarre, farmer's market, mini-mall type place that's got interesting stuff around every corner. There's an Imax theater on the waterfront where the ferries dock (oh, take a ferry ride!!! preferably to Bremerton to go on that whale watching trip and then when you come back at night, the ferry will come around a bend and the Seattle skyline will be revealed to you slowly, and then when you get closer, it's larger than life! Beautiful!). As for where to eat I can't remember any place by name, but there are plenty of quirky local places to eat so just check out the internet for some reviews before you go and you'll probably find a really memorable place to have a meal. I've never been disappointed.

You should make a point to check out the gas works park on Lake Union. Its a nice place to hang out and has some pretty cool views of Seattle.

Aside from that most of my time was spent working out of the Hotel. Wish I had more info for ya.

Best advice would be to NOT GO TO SEATTLE. There is a reason everyone up there is killin themselves

Greatings and salutations form the great northwest and i do mean great. atleast this week anyway. It's current;y not overcast and raining and about 75 deg. This is not the norm and unless your comming tomarrow don't expect it when you get here. There are many things for you to enjoy on your trip here I've lived here most of my life except for my few years in bc canada and when i was seeing the world with the navy. Guess the first thing is what do you enjoy doing? Are you bringing family do you like to gamble? Are you a foodie? You want artsy stuff or you a wilderness buff Ski season is preatymuch over so thats out. Are you a fisher? King salmons open on a few rivers to the north. 25# average right now little later in the sumer the big ones will be in.

There's this really cool coffeehouse called Starbucks there. You'll be kicking yourself in the ass if you don't visit while you have the chance.
