warning: this is gross
I got clearance yesterday to take a full on soapy bath yesterday.
This would be my first one since having the baby.
jesus.
christ.
I can't say I have ever felt so awful about myself.
I have stretch marks BEHIND MY LEGS. I have them on my tits, I have them on my arms, I have them all over my stomach. I have them on my hips.
I am still fat. 30 lbs down and about 15 more to go.
My hair is falling out in clumps.
My skin looks like someone is poking me with a fork.
The bags under my eyes look like I went a few rounds with tyson.
Please tell me this all goes away in a few months cause I am moments away from heading to the Brooklyn bridge.

The hair thing is normal ... the pregnancy hormones make your hair thicker & fuller while you're preggers, then, when you have the baby, it falls out because you don't have the supercharged hormones anymore.
The skin thing is also normal. Get a good cleanser and moisturizer and try not to stress.
Some people swear by vitamin E or cocoa butter creams for the stretch marks. While there's pretty much no clinical proof that this works, it doesn't hurt to pay a little extra attention to yourself.

Cover your whole body in Butter Cream for the stretch marks and such, Perperation H to tighten the skin.
The Butter Cream helps with getting rid of scars. I had to get stitches on my upper lip from a dog attack, and I used butter cream a lot. Definitely helped with shrinking and blending the scar.
Apparently Perperation-H can help shrink the look of skin. Weird, but bodybuilders and half-gay muscle-shirted club men vouch by it: http://www.newsweek.com/id/141198

You will bounce back soon... hang in there!
Meanwhile, I inherited dark circles under my eyes from my mother... Bare Escentuals makes a cover up called Well Rested that really helps cover, and then I use the regular cover up over that and it looks pretty natural. It might help you too? Go get it at Sephora and then continue filling up your shopping basket until you are happy!

Yes do what I do and just go to Sephora and spend lots of money you don't have.
I have a $55 eye cream that I am still willing to work, and it's 3/4 of the way done. For some reason I keep going back.
Anyhow, if you treat the stretch marks NAO! Rather than later, you have a better chance of getting rid of them - look for Strivectin-SD or Mederma.
I use Laura Mercier Secret Concealer for undereye circles.
The weight? I wouldn't sweat it, you look fine and you just shit out a baby. Don't start worrying about that for a few months. You don't have fatty fatty glur face, which is good. You still have skinny face. Dr. Missy has determined from that fact that you will not become a fatty.
(I have back of the leg stretch marks as well, from growing too fast or some crap. They're easy to hide, at least)

hopefully your belly button doesn't look like a whirlpool.
wish you luck either way.

the stretch marks will lighten and barely be noticable. you have a beautiful face and great body, so i doubt anyone will be inspecting you for stretch marks. in a couple of months the weight will be off, the stretch marks will lighten and partially go away, and you will be ready to get preggers all over again!

Don't stress, it took your body 9 month to get into this shape, don't expect it to jump back in 5 days.
All the celebs that look fabulous after giving birth are usually on controlled strict diets and have personal trainers chase them just a few weeks into it.
If it makes ya feel better, I call mine Zebra stripes... and they are still there and I hate them.

Come on bro..She didn't really need this..
I think by already losing 30 lbs you're way ahead of the game..Plus, this is why you get married BEFORE you give birth..
I'm sure being a new mommy takes a lot out of you but it's probably important to spend some time (and money) on yourself..
You were at least a 9 before you got pregnant so being a 7 and a half or an 8 for a few months isn't the end of the world..
Casey, you don't need to go a few rounds with Tyson or anyone else to be a knockout..

oh, and by the way, I haven't tried it but Strivectin is supposed to be really good. It's very expensive but cheaper than plastic surgery.
They will most certainly fade over time. But I don't think they will ever go away. Just moisturize the skin and keep it elastic.
I started using some stuff from Avon a while back but I am a lazy procrestinator and never followed through daily as I was supposed to.

Putting myself out there, but what the hell.
I used to be very overweight; in fact, I think the term is "morbidly obese," and no, I am not exaggerating. About 6 years ago, I decided that enough was enough and went on a weight loss plan that saw me lose about 130 lbs over a year and a half. While that was great, the "rapid" loss also caused me to have nasty stretchmarks on my belly, boobs, arms and legs.
Fast forward to shortly before I got knocked up, and most of those marks had faded away. To be honest, I really wasn't that bothered by the marks in the first place, as I never really dressed in a way that would have exposed them (I've always been an oversized top and baggy jeans kind of gal). Now I once again have some marks, but I know that they'll be gone or mostly gone in a decent period of time.
I do advise using anything with vitamin E in it to keep up the elasticity. Cocoa butter never really worked for me, but I've noticed that shea butter seems to be doing the trick as far as my newer marks go.

Have another baby.
He stole my line! The weight from Lucy that I haven't lost doesn't quite matter so much that there's a new bandit on board! Ha ha.
Anyway, the best advice anyone gave me after Lucy was that it takes 9 months to put all the weight and whatever on....give yourself at least that long to get it off. If you've already lost 30lbs your doing a TON better than I did!!!
Your hair will stop falling out soon, it's a temporary adjustment to the hormone changes. Your skin and the bags under your eyes will get better once the pretty lil' lady starts sleeping through the night...which should be soooooon!!
The rest are badges of honor. You're more beautiful as a mommy than ever before in your life.
I did like that Sephora idea, though! When all else fails.....

Good idea, a good massage goes a long way...
Plus I know THE BEST place for a spa pedicure in Montclair... they spread clay on your lower legs then wrap it in saran wrap, rub your feet in hot rocks, massage your feet, dip them in paraffin and then wrap them in these electric booties that keep them warm for about 1/2 an hour... all the while their massage chair is THE best. For days after I go I am in awe of what truly feel like brand new feet. I dare you not to feel amazing after you go! Oh, and it only costs $45!

Might be a little postpartum depression. I can't identify, but it will leave.
I was a fat kid and developed stretch marks at like 11. I still have them, but they're where no one sees unless I'm at the beach. And even then, if you look around, a good majority of people have them somewhere.
Get a tan, and love that baby. Everything else will seem trivial soon.

Hi,
I used to have pretty bad stretch marks and red scars around my belly region ever since I gave birth to my three kids.I had tried Vitamin E oil and cocoa butter which a number of people had recommended but unfortunately it didn't seem to work too well. My Doctor had even suggested that I go for a Tummy Tuck. I then recently read an article about a lady who supposedly got rid of her stretch marks using a particular cream. I tried it and it worked really well. It took a number of weeks but my stretch marks soon faded away. You can read the lady's article at the link below.
