View Full Version : I lost the back cover to my phone

Last night I dropped my phone. The battery fell out and the back cover skidded under the fridge, soooo I'm not going to see it again until I sell the place.

The phone is up and running so what are my white-trash choices? Rubber band? A little duct tape? Scotch tape?

I gotta say-- I NEVER had this problem with my cheap-ass free Nokia phones. They always snapped back together with NO problem!

Ha. I had the same problem with my wife's phone last week, but eventually found the cover. Here's a simple (and cheap) solution. Search on ebay for your phone model and "battery cover". If it's not too obscure of a model, some should come up. When I lost the battery cover to my wife's phone, I saw that I could get a Razr battery cover for about $6 shipped.

Cardboard and ribbon. You can change the ribbon color everyday to match your outfit.

Thanks Mikey! It's a pretty new Verizon model. I'll give ebay a try!

If it is literally under your fridge I have an even cheaper "fix" take a coathanger and untwist so you have a shepards hook at the one end go fish for a few minutes. You might find a few other things so be ready. Its better to have a ghetto way of finding it than a ghetto phone in general.

FYI Refrigerators are designed to be moved around. They have wheels and should slide out pretty easy.

Not my fridge.

I'll give the wire hanger a try. I am SURE I will find a cornucopia of cat toys. PLUS my cell phone cover.

You can get a neighbor to help you move the fridge

I was going to make the coat hanger suggestion, but with some gum on the end. Then again... gum isn't as sticky as it used to be.

You can get almost any part to any phone on ebay, usually dirt cheap also.

Usually that little "kicker grille" on the front of the fridge pops right off. I think there's a condensation tray that some people need to get to for some reason. Anyway, pop that bastard off and you'll probably have an easier time fishing for your cover. Enjoy the dust bunnies. While the grille is off, take it outside and hose it off somethin' fierce and watch the dust-tea fly.

How could it be lost if you know where it is?

Get one of your neighbors to help you move the fridge or use like they all said a coat hanger and a flashlight so you can see where exactly it is.

Good luck!

Find someone with the same type of phone, invite them over to your house, knock their's onto the floor, quickly scramble to help them pick it up, pocket their back cover and tell them you think theirs went under the fridge. Then have them fish yours out.

Problem solved.

How big be your fridge?

Oh, modeling clay will work to complete your phone. If you match the color, no one will notice.
