I've traveled from LI to NJ for work everyday for about 4 years now. I travel on the Cross Island from the Southern State to the Throgsneck and for 3.5 years never once saw a person pulled over. I can pretty much say that for the other 27 years of my life on that parkway also. But for the past few months there is at least 2 cars pulled over every single morning. Usually going southbound around the exit for the Grand Central Pkwy. I know it means nothing to most of you, but maybe I could save one or two people from getting a speeding ticket. I have been lucky enough to not get one as it seems to be a southbound thing and i avoid the Cross Island due to traffic on my way home.

I appreciate the info. I'm surprised you haven't noticed the enforcement before. That area is a gold mine. The warmer months usually have more cops because of the "eye candy" jogging along the east side. Run with the pack and hope for the best.

That is really good to know. I was having lots of problems getting on the Gothals NY bound and was debating at one point turning around and taking the George. If I did I would have gone that exact way home. The GW to the Cross Island is usually my fail safe and when I do I fly home, but I will be more cautious for cops.

Yeah, they've been doing this for years. They set up just south of the entrance coming off the Throgs Neck Bridge and I'm sure they fill their monthly quota in a matter of days.

there has always been the cops at the bottom of the Throgs Neck, but this is later on closer to the Grand Central exits just past the LIE. There is a decent sized lawn area as you come around a corner there and they nail you there.

I always come perilously close to death driving along there at~70 mph and watch the joggers in their sports bras
