I was mistaken for a celebrity at dinner [Archive]

While watching TV with my wife a few weeks ago, I noticed some similarities between myself and a certain celebrity. I mentioned it to her, but her response was, "Yes, but Bobby Fallon's JBL jokes are more funny."

Fast forward to last night.

We went to a restaurant that we've been to a few times under different owners. I was wearing a ballcap and some gym shorts with a t-shirt. I looked ratty, but I didn't care.

The waiter came up and did a double take and said to me, "Oh wow, I thought you were Joba Chamberlain for a second there."

I was a little unnerved and taken aback for a second. I didn't have a response. I heard some chuckling and I immediately shot Liz a look before she broke out into a full laugh. The waiter thought he might have accidentally insulted me and started backpedalling, but I was more amused than anything.

I contemplated signing the receipt "J. Chamberlain, #62" but I thought better of it.

So yes, let the jokes commence.
