Seems to me that a whole lot of people are using the word embarrased to describe how they feel about this country now.

Even though people clamor to come to the US and risk their lives to enter the country illegally to have a better life.
Even though we are looked upon as the world leaders, and when UN action is necessary its usually the americans who are first to be asked to help
Even though the US contributes more then double then the next highest countries output to the Red Cross and other funds (or the US gives more then #2, #3 and #4 combined)
Even though we have free and fair elections unlike most other countries around the world
And even though we have the highest percentage of worlds millionaires and one of the bes economies for the people in the world

America as a whole is a wreck and if you are seriously proud then awesome for you.

America is no longer a world power. It lost the standing earlier this year. America is 47 in educational merit among world wide standings. The Chinese and Japanese own a large percentage of national monuments, state parks, and available plainlands thought out the country.

America refuses to get with the program and conserve natural resources. People are still buying SUV and Hummers and stupid gas guzzling cars. Have you ever listen to Anthony Cumia his attitude about the environment isn't unique. People just don't care. Let the next generation or the next generation deal with this generation stupidity as long as I have my Escalade.

No matter how many people are lining the streets to get in to the US. They don't have anything to really look forward to, no jobs, no health care, no decent school, and gov't that is happy with the current status quo.

There is so much disappointment that has happened in the last 8 years. So much death and so much loss that I don't honestly see how you can be even happy there.

I won't even get into the fact that FEMA was let by a freaking horse breeder instead of a qualified person, or how Rove is not arrested this very moment for not showing up in front of congress this week.

I was at an event in New Hampshire last month. I can't count how many people inquired on how my move to Canada went, and how many questioned I answered from people that wanted to leave. One couple are shoe store owners, they have had a business in the US for over 30 years. They are thinking about moving to Canada. 30 years of Yankee pride down the drain because of 8 years of Bush and Cheney. Yankee Pride is almost indestructible and it is so sad to see a nice older couple lose their spirit like that.

I've read about the move and all that but to think that America is no longer a world power is rediculous. I also gotta say that people arent buying the gas guzzling vehicles any more. If gas prices drop sometime soon we might see a relapse but overall they are down on the list. That is specifically why I am going to get dick for my truck when I trade it in. Enjoy the poutine and the gorgeous women though...Montreal is a fun visit.

Edit: I dont know why i typed out the word "gotta" because I am somewhat of a spelling/grammar prick, but I think I should leave it in there.

America is now 2nd or 3rd in standing of world powers no longer #1 I am sorry for the error. Also the truck thing, people are still buying those cars. I read an article on car sales in California and SUV are about 40% of the current market there. I use California because in the world view California has either the 6th or 7th largest economy in the world.

Even with the down turn in profits for the Ford f150 you can be sure they will be developing a 2009 line even though they hesitate to do so.

America isn't what it was, it won't ever be Bush and Cheney saw to it that we would be isolated, heckled and now not taken seriously. Even if Obama is elected it could take up to 50 to 100 years to right the wrongs there were done in 8 short years.

Montreal is a nice place to live. Poutine is hard to complain about, and yes the women here are very pretty, plastic pretty but still pretty. I think I keep up with the women of this town just fine. :) ( I am a girl)

SUVs are minivans, though. If you have 3 or 4 kids, you can't buy a camry. And Ford f150's--you ever work on a farm without one? People are still buying trucks because they need them for work, less people are buying them just cause they want a truck.

Howard County Public Schools system manages 71 schools and serves approximately 49,000 students. The graduation rate from this school district is an above average 92%. One of the primary measures of excellence in Howard County living is the quality of its public school system.
