A lot of foreign money (Chinese, Japanese, Arab petro dollars, etc.) has gone into holding the debt of Fannie & Freddie under the assumption that there is an implicit (if not legal) government guarantee. Since the $ has been sliding and foreign holders of US Govt. bonds have been actually losing money (in their native currencies) holding them, a decision has apparently been made that we can't piss off our creditors by not paying them at all thereby endangering the current & future loans we'll be accepting from them to keep the REAL hard times at bay.

not that it matters anymore, but when Ron and Fez were on WJFK, friends of the show Monty Love came down and played a show at the U-Turn. They had the band on the show before their show. Monty Love brought an opening act along, a screamo band called Quantice Never Crashed. The almost comedic misspelling of the name has stuck with me for at least 4 years. So, of course I was making a joke that only myself and perhaps the members of that band would get. But I did it anyway. :tongue:

To me, the worst part of that shitty "I Kissed a Girl" song was the line "I hope my boyfriend don't mind it." Tee hee hee! Look at how naughty I am!

It's the theme song for sorority chicks who like to kiss as their boyfriends stand behind them yelling "Woooo!"
