Heya buddays!

Saw in the O&A listening thread that Randy Newman will be on today. That should be good.

Ronnie should host some of XM's music shows. He's much better than some of the hacks they use now.

It's my understanding that the saying is "My Bag" not, "My Bad". "My Bad" is just bad English. It was confused with "My Bag" because there are to many idiots and minorities that are not learning proper English. "My Bag" comes when someone, I.E. stands up and takes responsibility for the bag of weed that the officer found in the car. "That's my Bag." Taking Responsibility.

First time I ever heard that.

I assumed, and still think, that "my bad" comes from saying, that's my bad act.

Either way it's not bad English. If it's my bag, it means your getting slang/saying wrong. Bad english is when you have bad grammar, etc.\

EDIT: My Bad (http://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/my-bad.html)

This slang term originated in about 1970. At that time, i.e. pre the widespread use of the Internet, slang terms often circulated at street level for many years before being adopted by anyone who felt inclined to write them down. That's clearly not the case any longer of course and any word or phrase that is widely known is dateable quite precisely via website logs.

The first citation in print is C. Wielgus and A. Wolff's, 'Back-in-your-face Guide to Pick-up Basketball', 1986:

"My bad, an expression of contrition uttered after making a bad pass or missing an opponent."

That quote attributed to Galileo is actually one of those famous mis-quotes that just doesn't go away. Just like "Beam me up, Scotty" was never on Star Trek and they never say "Play it again Sam" in Casablanca, Galileo never mentioned God in his quote (although the quote Fez said is really popular and always attributed to Galileo).

Here is the real quote taken from his writings:

Philosophy is written in this grand book, the universe, which stands continually open to our gaze. But the book cannot be understood unless one first learns to comprehend the language and read the characters in which it is written. It is written in the language of mathematics, and its characters are triangles, circles, and other geometric figures without which it is humanly impossible to understand a single word of it; without these one is wandering in a dark labyrinth. First time I ever heard that.

I assumed, and still think, that "my bad" comes from saying, that's my bad act.

Either way it's not bad English. If it's my bag, it means your getting slang/saying wrong. Bad english is when you have bad grammar, etc.
When someone says "My Bad." It IS bad grammer.

No clue. But having lived in Atlanta I can tell you that Atlanta fans aren't necessarily bad fans, definitely not as bad as Ron gives them credit for. Falcons games are usually a great crowd Mainly it's that so few people in Atlanta are from there, many moved from other major market cities and still hold loyal to their home teams. There's also been some statistical research that made waves in the Atlanta paper a few years back about black fans not coming out to sporting events. Considering Atlanta is largely black, this could have something to do with it. Not sure though.

The Doonesbury comic strip, by Garry Trudeau, originated in the Yale Daily News as "Bull Tales," a strip about local campus events and situations. Several characters in the Doonesbury strip were based on people associated with the university. The character B.D. was originally based on Yale football quarterback Brian Dowling; Dowling's teammate Calvin Hill was featured as "Calvin" in the early years of the strip.[1] President King of the fictional Walden College was based on Yale president Kingman Brewster, and longtime Yale chaplain Rev. William Sloane Coffin provided part of the basis for the Rev. Scott Sloan, the chaplain at Walden in the strip.

My brother is on methadone, coming off of heroine and pain pill addiction. He had problems sleeping. Doctor prescribed him 2-3 colonapan a day. Now he is addicted to colonapan. Never fucking ends.

methadone is really just a heroine sub anyway.... it sucks to come off.
doc should not have prescribed a sleep aid to an addict.... but i guess trying to get clean in the outside world is not the same as in rehab.

It seems to me that you have to much drama in your life. I've seen it in other post and threads you've started. I think you should move somewhere at least 1000 miles away from everyone in your family. Just a thought.

When my family and I were on the "Gerlado Show" in 1994. There was a guy that crashed in a small plane and lived. The reason he survived was because he was a Packer fan. He had his "cheese head wedge" with him and right before he crashed he put it on his lap and put his face down in it. The doctor said it protected his face and abdomin upon impact.

fez's argument here would be better "would you bribe the ref to throw the game your way?" it sounds more like that's what he's going for.
