I must admit I am a very opinionated person. Mike wants me to start a blog for that reason. Tentative title is "The Opinionated Ocelot" (they are a type of cat. It's an inside joke regarding a kid's cartoon show from a few years ago. My tag line would be "that's a lot of ocelot!" Retarded, I know.

The rear seal of the master cylinder is likely going bad leaking some break fluid. With it hot out air and moisture can seep into the lines causing a serious break problem. I am a mechanical wiz, just need to fix it but can't in these apartments.

Instead of fixing trucks; I went with my buddy and they bought a new 50" plasma and I helped him to mount it on the wall (took some ingenuity and a lot of beer). I finally got some well needed sleep last night.

she was having a supervised visit with her 2 sons. she brings one son, A, things and not the other, B.

B gets very frustrated with A because mom clearly favors him, so they fight all the time. Today, mom brought A a gift even though it was B's birthday. B got nothing. B flipped out and ripped the toy out of A's hands yelling :its my birthday! that toy is mine!" mom told B to let the toy go and B said "youre a bitch!" that's when mom flipped out too. i saw them take B to the back to calm down and all i hear him saying is "but its supposed to be mine" he is crying and growling. Mom then yells at B saying, "you think that lady you live with is ur mother?! Im your mother, i pushed you out! If you keep thinking that way,youre gonna be here til youre 18!" B is 8.

Now mom is yelling and carrying on that they better not call the cops on her and she is demanding that B be moved from his current placement because he didnt act out like that when she lived with him. she then starting making gang related retailiation threats against the foster mom and us, the agency.

Well that is understandable. If I was a rancher I would not be happy if someone stole my property. Supposedly someone on my mom's side of the family was a horse thief way back when. The other Hygienist was off last week and today is her first day back. I'm really hoping my boss calls her out on her unprofessionalism tonight. She called up one of our patients a few weeks ago and demanded to know why the woman was coming to me for cleanings now and not her. I had no idea that she had did this. I saw the patient last Thursday and she told me and my boss about the incident. If the other DH thought that this would get the patient to start seeing her for cleanings again she is dead wrong. She pissed the woman off so much she never wants to even be in the office if she is there. My boss apologized to the patient and said that it was very unprofessional.

They are way in to their expected life time. I'm convinced the old mare is a zombie. The story is to long, but even the Vet didn't think she would make it though the night. That's been two years ago. Well, I had my telephone interview today with a potential employer. The recruiter was very nice and informative and I really like the mission of the company. He worried me by repeatedly referring to my experience and prior salary and using phrases like "more than qualified" and "with all this experience why..." choose this position? I know this is an entry level position (plenty of opportunity to move up) and the salary is less than half of what I was making in research, but I desperately needed to get out of research, it was killing me literally. I also hope I did not appear over confident.

I studied up on the company, the executives, the mission statement, their press releases, etc. as you should do so you sound like you know what you are talking about. I also know some one who is a mid manager of the company so I was well versed in how they operate which impressed the recruiter, but this is where I hope I did not appear over confident. He said "Wow, you know a lot about the Blood Center... you know more than most people"

I did not need to tout my past experience as much as I thought I did because even though my resume sucks (first time writing one, I have always used a curriculum vitae) he expressed how impressed he was on more than one occasion with my experience.

I am keeping my fingers crossed. This position is at our blood center that serves the Gulf Coast region and I really like what they do, essentially saving lives on a daily basis and I want to be a part of that.


In celebration of not having a major anxiety attack I am having my first beer in over a week.

I'll speak to that...and it's not directed at you or Misti...and actually it's not meant to condemn anybody.

A few months ago, this thread turned into a 3 or 4-person self-suck of in-jokes, and anybody else who came in here was usually ignored. That's the main reason I stopped even reading it, let alone adding anything to it. Which is fine; I just found other threads and sections to contribute to.

in a way, it's like at my high school, all the black guys sat together at one table. some were good friends of mine, and i'd sit at their table occasionally, but you definitely felt like an outsider.
