Not too bad on the salt. I only use a little of the teryaki sauce just to give it flavor. And my vegatable stock is homemade without salt so no added sodium there. I try to follow a low sodium diet.

Well you can't deny yourself all the time. Cardiac problems and HBP run on my mom's side so I'd rather get used to a low sodium diet now than when I am old and it's harder. I use other spices to make up for it.

They sell bulk spices on the ethnic food aisle at my local Pathmark and King Kullen (that is a regional store). Do you have a stop n' shop? They usually have bulk spices also. Again, probably in the ethnic food aisle. Costco usually does too. I don't know about Sam's club or BJ's.

if the mango has the right ripeness you can cut off big slices from either side, cut squares into it and then get it off the skin with a filet knive... makes for nice and even cubes

Very boring. I liked shop class better. We made checker boards and wooden name plaques. I love woodworking. I haven't done any of those types of crafts in years though. I don't have access to a wood shop any more. I think a man in the next town over has a woodworking studio. I will have to inquire about classes or something.

And I was fortunate to come from a family of crafty people. My paternal grandmother was a seamstress in the garment district specializing in coat linings. My maternal grandmother was a phenomenal crocheter. My mother sewed clothing like a professional, and made many things for me growing up. She taught me some things, and sent me to 4-H so I learned a lot there. And for some reason I take to things like that very quickly. That's why I was able to teach myself to knit from a book. Now I've been teaching Mike.

plus we got to get out of school @ noon for our jobs in the food industry. that's where i really learned how to cook.

im always trying... i know whats going on only cuz i use the ispy. i generally keep the screen turned like this so people cant see (they approach me from the left) all they see is me sorting, typing evals, entering data, etc. ispy actually helps me get a lot done while still knowing whats happening.
