holy shit. this is the first I have heard of this story. what the fuck happens to a person that turns him into something that would do this to another human being?

i remember hearing this story - have him fucking tortured. i have ZERO tolerance. i am on the fence for the death penalty, but this guy makes me want to kill him myself.

why does the story say he nearly killed a 9 year old boy?
Nope, don't cut his head off. Throw him in general population and let the most violent inmates have at him until he's dead.
That's not cruel and unusual punishment. I prefer to call it "unique and inspired".

devil music.
seriously tho. I dont want this guy to get the death penalty. Send this fuck to prison and let justice take place there. Remember what happened to jeffrey dahmer? If this idiot got the death penalty, the state would kill him softly. the state would give this monster a platform to say some dumb shit as his "last words"
Turn that prick loose in a prison and let the other animals send him a message.

The problem is, since he crossed state lines, I'm presuming he's being tried in federal court. If that's the case, they may try to put him in SuperMax, which you are basically in a cell for 23 hours a day and that's it. No other prisoner contact.
Since Dahmer, they have been avoiding putting high-profile cases with content such as this into GenPop. They usually segregate them, similar to how Death Row is.

I agree. I would far prefer the guy gets a Jeffery Dahmer fate. Even if the guy gets 18 consecutive life sentences but never gets beaten to death in the Dahmer manner, spending the next 75 odd years in solitary confinement, listening to the demons in his head is worse punishment than being put out of his misery.

keeeeey-rist, he made videos? I didn't know this. Holy God. I knew this guy was messed up (he had a blog that he wrote before the Groene killings that was discovered post-arrest. He had a major persecution complex.)
I'm inclined to agree with Perry. If they don't put him in SuperMax, GenPop. But if he gets the death penalty, he won't be in GenPop. So why is he arguing against the DP?

from wiki -
Jeffrey Dahmer was officially indicted on 17 murder charges, which were reduced to 15. The murder cases were already so notorious that the authorities never bothered to charge him in the attempted murder of Edwards. His trial began in January 1992. With evidence overwhelmingly against him, Dahmer pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. The court found Dahmer sane and guilty on 15 counts of murder and sentenced him to 15 life terms, totaling 957 years in prison. At his sentencing hearing, Dahmer expressed remorse for his actions, also saying that he wished for his own death.

I hear this argument all the time for the death penalty and I just dont buy it. If someone is already crazy, do you think he gives a shit about living or dying? Death isnt going to be a deterrent to someone this evil. Neither would it be to some street thug who spends his life one step from a bullet in the head.
That being said, if anyone deserved to die, its this fucker. If I believed in the Devil, he would be it.

Until the last century or so, executions were public virtually everywhere. (In fact, I think some of the Muslim countries still have public executions).
And it didn't seem to bring an era of peace.
The death penalty isn't a deterrent and it never has been.

How about as a deterrent to taxes? Or do 0 tax dollars go into maintaining prisons/appeals and so on?
And I could give a shit about the death penalty as a deterrent. I only care about it insofar as some folks DESERVE death after one or two too many child murders, and it's what probably should happen. Oh well, let's save 'em so we feel better about ourselves and act all superior to people who don't agree with us! Fuck it.

Yeah, we should just get rid of appeals altogether. And maintaining prisons? Fuck those filthy animals! Why even have guards? We should just lock them up in one cell and let them kill each other.

I would have zero problem with that
This guy fucking tortured a little kid, filmed it, made the little girl watch the tape, then shot the boy in the stomach which didnt kill him, then shot him in the head in front of that little girl
In addition to killing 3 toher members of their family
and he has already plead guilty

Though I was quoting you, I was only doing so insofar as to respond to that one deterrent remark you made. The second paragraph spiel was more a rant on my part about "So-Sigh-Eh-Tee", and really nothing to do with what you or anyone said in this thread so far.
I honestly actually agree with Eli's statement. French Revolution proves him right. Robespierre thought the death penalty was awesome. Up to a point. (Hah! Hah!!!)
As such, I wasn't putting words into yours or anyone else's mouth. But that's a matter of interpretation if you so choose.
And my question is unanswered. How much $$$ goes into the whole process of "caring" for these guys? Even killing them costs alot of money- it baffles me as to why. It costs nothing to stab a motherfucker (stole from Chris Rock).

It's just stupid to pack prisons with minor criminals for these guys to prey on and either kill or ultimately turn into something much worse. I have no idea why "supermax" is the exception and not the rule. Get people in prison who actually should be in there and keep them locked up 23 hours a day. That's prison. That's something that either makes you want out and never to go back or punishes you for the rest of your life.

I was thinking about your comment later - I thought ... I wonder if we would all get together and say - statistics show this is not a deterrent, but what about just some plain vengeful Old Testament style justice? We'll all breathe a little easier.
