Munich is a really underrated Spielberg movie.
I can't believe I live on a planet where someone actually thinks George Lucas is a good director.

I know if they did too many, it would get so cheap, but I LOVE the films of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz are two of my favorite comedies of the last ten years.

No, I went to reply right after he wrote it, and answered it, but didn't hit "Submit" until 5 minutes later, because I had to handle a work thing.

He has some great films, which are:
-Salvador
-Born on the Forth of July
-JFK
-Talk Radio
-Platoon
-Natural Born Killers
-Nixon
But, his career is at times overshadowed by shit-lousy flicks:
-U Turn
-Any Given Sunday
-Alexander
-World Trade Center

As a co-star. At the time of this show, Ron was talking about women getting their own shows/movies, etc.

Never sure why people get so hostile towards mindless flicks likeStar Wars, Independence Day or Transformers. Yeah, they aren't real "thinkers", but they're fun. Things explode, people make one-liners. What's to hate?

She did get her own show eventually, then it tanked. But I think it was more on the merit of Seinfeld rather than SNL.

Absolutely nothing. They're great flicks for what they are, but when you're talking about a director's full body of work and trying to judge the director honestly, you kind of have to put those films aside and judge the more serious films without the special effects extravaganzas.

Julia L-D probably has made more money than Chevy Chase or David Spade from Seinfeld, though. It just depends on how you would measure 'success.'
He brought up Jane Curtain, who was clearly a co-star on that 3rd Rock show, so I don't think you can dismiss her that easily.

I think that Kate & Ally was the show that Ron was referring to when he mentioned Jane Curtin.

I used to watch that show, and completely forgot it existed...
I still say it has to depend on how you define success. Star on a show that might have been in the top 5 for a year or two, or equal co-star on a show that might be in the top 5 all-time. I think they're at least comparable, but feel free to disagree...

From the Sunday Star Ledger:
The New Adventures of Old Christine
(CBS, Sept. 24) CBS uses the Julia Louis-Dreyfus sitcom in its latest attempt to establish a comedy beachhead on Wednesday nights, where it'll air at 8 p.m. Wanda Sykes becomes a regular cast member, and the season opens with Christine and Sykes' Barb having to get married so Bahamas native Barb can stay in the country when her visa expires.
