Spaz audio tomorrow..should be great!

Im really looking forward to tomorrow's show when they are going to play a bunch of the old Spaz audio. For the new listeners, you guys are in for some good stuff. I probably would never be an O&A fan if it wasn't for him, I thought his segments were the only funny part of the O&A show for awhile (the Week in Review was genius to me). Going to be a great listen!

haha, i went to college in Albany so whenever i drove up there from Long Island I would always see the Sloatsburg sign. I remember when Spaz moved there they said it was the first piss stop on the way to driving upstate, and its so true. That was THE rest area that I would always stop in.

i dont know why they couldnt make the "Worst of" Spaz related since they did promise. But I was more dissapointed with no XM side since Bill Burr was in and Im a big fan..wouldve loved to hear him uncensored


But back to the "worst of"..they played "Travis gets into a fight at Ikea". What? C'mon, that wasn't even "Worst of" radio quality bit. It was a pleasant bit, but "Worst of?"

I assume the staff puts together the "Worst of" and their is just too much "Worst ofs" that revolve around the staff. They are all trying too hard to be superstars (This week Danny has been gasping for airtime any chance he can get it). I think the listeners see most of the staff as personality-less interchangeable faces (except maybe E-rock cuz hes a punching bag)...but leave the Staff's lame airtime segments off the worst ofs please.

but seriously the first O&A bit i ever heard back in 1999 involved Spaz and thats when that show hooked me. sadly they couldnt sustain my interest after about 2007

I get why they hung up at the time. What bugs me is the fans who rally around that as a good move. I still can't understand why the Melinda thing bothered Ant. Everybody has a story on how they met their chick. Who the hell cares if he met his in studio when she did a bit for the show? Is there something embarassing about sloppy seconds after the age of 22?

the whole thing was that they were reviewing Spaz' air check, which jocks tend to want to be perfect when they send it to station to station, and his was so bad

or maybe, just like a lot of things in life...things just aren't as funny as you remember them

Ah, Spahz...Harken back lads, to 1999 when a young CCC was a senior in high school.

I went to visit a Marine recruiter and when I got to his office, the RS was having some burger king while O&A were blasting over the radio. Spaz was on the airwaves that day. Did I mention it was a sunny, idealistic day?

The RS switches off the radio all embarrassed and says "oh sorry, didn't know you were coming in". I let 'em know I like O&A too. Gets the interview off to a good start.

Midway through the recruitment schtick, RS is going on about all the schools you go to when ur in the Marines...mentions Iona as one of them. I balk. "Didn't Spaz go to that school?" RS freezes mid-speech, slow realization dawns on his face. "Oh yeah... he did, didn't he..." he says whimsically. We laugh, couple 'a men laughing. "Fuck college anyway" was the next thing he said.
