View Full Version : Keith Olbermann is a lunatic

And apparently he's as much a target as Obama. From withleather (http://withleather.uproxx.com/?p=7039)...
Even though Keith Olbermann and Dan Patrick revolutionized the sports news show format in the early 1990s, they’ve done little else since then, except act like they could apply their alleged Midas touch elsewhere in the world. Patrick took the most boring show on ESPN radio and tried to syndicate it, with predictably unimpressive results. And then there’s Olbermann, who was so damn worried about getting shot in Denver that he threatened to quit without additional security. From the New York Post (http://www.nypost.com/seven/08292008/gossip/pagesix/secret_service_due_for_keith__126549.htm), via Ben Maller (http://msn.foxsports.com/rumors):
Olbermann - upset to be anchoring at the Democratic National Convention from an outdoor set near Denver’s train station - “announced that his bosses [had] better find a more secure location for him to broadcast from at the Republican National Convention [in St. Paul, Minn.] or he’s not going,” one insider said. “He thinks someone will assassinate him.” MSNBC had no comment.
…Even before he left New York, the biggest mouth at MSNBC was worried about his safety. When a car was late to take him to the airport, Olbermann threatened via e-mail to stay home, another insider told Page Six. The blowhard whined to producers, “I could have been attacked on the street.”
…Connie Chung, a former news star of both MSNBC and CBS, told The Wall Street Journal yesterday, “They have to just grow up.”

It's Democratic Convention. The use of the term "Democrat" in that context is clearly meant as a rhetorical insult.

Actually the organization is incorporated as the Democrat Party, Democratic is a misuse of their proper name, although everyone does it so they probably should reincorporate. They may legally be using Democratic Party as a fictitious name, but I've never seen any documentation that this is the case - but I've never checked either.
Then there are all the state organizations and their names, in Minnesota the organization is incorporated as the Democrat Farm Labor Party.

So I'm a member of the "Democrat Party"? Well that just means that I have to act like a child as well and consistently talk about the "RepubliCON Party".

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democrat_Party_(phrase)
Democrat Party is a political epithet used in the United States by some people (in many cases, conservative commentators or some members of the Republican Party in speeches and press releases) instead of the name (or more precisely, the proper noun) Democratic Party.

OK if you guys want to know the history of the parties names look at newspapers. Way back, newspapers were schills for a certain political party. There was no such thing as fair media, it was one way or the other. Talahassee Democrat is a newspaper that was formed to support the "Democrat" Party. The Press Republican, Springfield Republican, etc. I know it wasnt more than 20 years ago that the NJ Dem County Orgs reformed and made it Democratic. Wiki is incomplete here. Mojo, you are a historian, check it out on JSTOR

Dude, think what you want, but I'd like to see a certain XM Radio personality try and cash a check made out to Fez Whatley.
Wikipedia is not a substitute for articles of incorporation and won't hold up in court, I've even heard that at some colleges and universities if a student cites wiki as a source its an automatic failure. I use wiki all the time, but look to the footnotes to find legitimate sources of information.
If you're truly ashamed of the name Democrat I suggest you contact Howard Dean and the chairs of the various other Democrat parties and organizations and pressure them to change the name of the corporations or adopt fictitious names that are acceptable to your liking. Again some of the parties probably have officially adopted the name Democratic, since the name has been misused for a while now..
Democratic party can be just about any political party that has any association with "democracy," including Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, Labor, Likud, Green, etc... I would guess this is why Democrat Party is still the legal name and any of the parties using Democratic Party uses a fictitious name.

Yep it looks like the Minnesota party has adopted a fictitious name for this purpose.
I'm really shocked at the level of shame the, now known as, "Democratics" have with the name they used for a good 150 years.

Also keep in mind when you say Democrat party - Democrat is the noun, when you say democratic party, party is the noun and democratic is an adjative describing party.
Democratic party can be just about any political party that has any form of democracy, including Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, Labor, Likud, Green, etc...
A. I would like a credible link to this claim of incorporation. Furthermore a legal name does not necessitate an automatic transfer to a d/b/a.
B. Stop being an asshole.

"Democrat Party" is a slur like "Barack Hussein Obama" is: it's one you can make, then deny you made it. "What, that's just the name of the party!" "What, that's just his middle name!"

KO was one of my favorites when he was on SC. Seemingly laid back, witty.
I don't even care what his political slant is, but what I do care about is his total lack of objectivity, integrity, and snarkiness. yes, i said it:snarkiness.
I know he is back to being a politcal commentator, since he screwed the pooch at the RNC convention, so he does not have to be objective, but if you hate Rush Limbaugh, you gotta hate KO. For the same reason. They are totally in the bag for their chosen party. Never any slack will be cut. No matter how legit it may be. Who needs this misinformation broadcast? not me. just the facts, ma'am.
And KO's pink ties and euro trash eyeglasses. The perfectly coiffed hair with the angry scowl when he is outraged over some democratic spin.
For me, if you asked me who I would love to punch in the face, point blank, fist launched from behind my shoulder and through the snozzolah, first it would be Rush Limbaugh's fat head, then KO's scowling face. then I'd kick Chris Matthews and Sean Hannity in the balls. extended big toe hitting the prostate while the arch of the foot compresses the ball sack. and i'd give alan coombs an atomic wedgie. don't get me started.

That's as bad as Olbermann's first few moments after Obama's acceptance speech at the DNC. EMBARASSING!
Edit: And this isn't an attempt to deflect criticism from a conservative to a liberal. That batshit crazy defense of Palin winking at the camera is just pathetic, and really, who didn't get a fucking douchechill the first time you caught her winking, or cringed at the "Oh there you go again Joe, say it ain't so, goshdarnit"
As a conservative, I'd rather be caught giving Nixon's corpse a handjob then have to defend this vapid meatslot.
But I'm glad to be the one this time to call Olbermann on the carpet. And I'm glad the board in general hates both sides of this political bullshit. It's getting so stupid on both sides, whoever wins will have it 10x worse then the combined hatred the right had for Clinton and the left has for Bush.
I feel real bad for the people in Washington next year who are going to really try to get something done. The rest of the lunatics in office and their respective mouthpieces in the media have rooooned it for them.
