It will be the Giants’ first Thanksgiving Day game in exactly 17 years – on Nov. 26, 1992, they lost to the Cowboys in Dallas, 30-3. The Giants are 7-6 on Thanksgiving but have played on the holiday just twice since 1938, including a 13-6 victory over the Lions on Nov. 25, 1982.

The Giants, the defending NFC East Champions, first played on Thanksgiving in 1926, their second year of existence, when they defeated the Brooklyn Lions, 17-0. Aside from getting a big game like that, I'm not exactly pleased with the scheduling in this case. Granted, three teams have to travel and play only 4 days after their last game, but I find it ridiculous that Dallas, Denver, and Detroit all have home games the Sunday before Thanksgiving so they don't have to travel anywhere. How the fuck is that fair to the traveling team on 3 days rest? Make those teams play an away game the week before so they at least have to travel home.
