Not really an anniversary I am proud of, but a fact none the less.
Marriage, work, kids, etc. I pretty much gave up on it.
I used to review high-end audio/video equipment, and do record reviews.
I never got paid very much, but I got a bit of satisfaction out of doing it (and copped some decent gear out of the deal)
Most of my connections have dried up. I still have a couple of contacts in the industry. (all freelance now)
I am thinking of trying again.
My question is, should I waste my time on low-to-no paying gigs? Should I try to branch out of my realm, or should I just say F it!

I would ask you this Mr. Tub: Can you do it without messing up your real priorities and still have some fun doing it?

If you can then why not?

I hate regrets.

If it doesn't stand in the way of your current ability to make ends meat, I see no reason at all not to do it. Any chance to do something that makes you happy is worth it.

Epo and Papa Bear said it. If you've got the ability and the means, go for it. Regrets are for bitches.

Tub, what is "branching out of your realm?" Is it something at all similar to what you're doing or completely different.
Now that I look at it, that is a pretty dumb question.

I would read anything Mistah Tub reviewed. In fact I'd probably buy it just because he reviewed it. Go for it

I wouldn't do it. The last couple years of listening to Stugots' radio show might have comprimized your ability to judge good audio.

I took no blame for that. All blame should be put on FANDICK.

Get back to it... my equipment is old and broken down and hardly works, I need some recommendations!

...oh yeah, and my stereo needs replacing...

seriously, after not touching video production for 15+ years, I had the opportunity to work on a little project this past winter. I forgot how much I enjoy it. Now I just need to keep finding projects to work on, and not impact my day job(s), I think I can find that balance
