WTF? PETA wants Ben & Jerry's to use breat milk for their ice cream and as it states in the article some restaurant overseas is putting it on their menu.

Have you ever tried it? Do you crave it?

How, exactly, does PETA think companies can get enough breast milk to do this?

Yes, I have tried breast milk. I assume that I craved it. But I don't really remember, I was 9.

Well Kat in PETA world animals rule and the humans are the ones that are used to feed the animals.

I still remember the PETA dullard getting crushed by Mike Tirico after the Killing of the horse after the kentucky derby

And no way would i drink breast milk after seeing that sour skittles commercial with the guy hooked up to the milking machine and he was putting out sour milk

BTW has anyone seen that commerical lately, it may be the most disturbing thing ever

So in bizzaro world, we are going to pump women, that have just had babies, full of hormones in order to produce more milk. Then we'll milk them. Should they chew cud and moo during the process?
I love animals, I hate PETA.
And I have seen the commercial you are talking about. Creepy indeed.

I am sure that they will argue that if cows can be fed a certain diet to produce the bets milk that they can do the same to women.
I am always baffled how they can put a human on the same level with an animal, no matter what the issue is.

No No No, in bizarro world its the men who will produce the milk for the babies after they are born

Like DeNiro said in Meet the Parents - "I have nipples can you milk me" thats the bizzarro reality

I agree, its the food chain

humans >>>> any animal

if animals were so smart they would be the rulers

and how is getting milk from cows an unethical treatment of cows, dont cows die if they arent milked

Exactly. I don't know much about animal husbandry, but I do know that it is painful for the animal if they are not milked. Taking milk from an animal does not hurt the animal.

I am 100% not surprised that people elevate animals above human beings. There are sometimes stronger laws to prevent animal cruelty in this country than there are to prevent child and spousal abuse. It's crazy.

It's the same cringe that I get whenever I hear the term "pet parents" ... I understand the impulse to call your kitty or pup your "baby" but you're not their parent, IMO.

(This is not a recent cringe. When I was 12, it used to piss me off whenever my mother referred to me as my kitten's "mommy" ... I wasn't his mommy, I was his caretaker.)

And, incidentally Katja, I'm a female not a male, hence the "correction" in my quote of your post.

To answer the first question, no I've never tasted breast milk but I've had some colostrum (it's produced by the woman late in her pregnancy). Not too tasty.

And no, cows will not explode if they are not milked as long as they are not fed hormones which makes then lactate non-stop.

Think about it. There is no other animal which routinely drinks the milk of another animal, except humans.

So you consider humans to be equal to animals? because your statement seems that way.

We don't routinely drink the milk of another human (unless peta has their way and will feed it to us in our beloved ice cream)

Um yes, scientifically speaking, we are animals. And yes, we do drink other humans' milk as babies which is what breast milk was made for. It was not made to support animals as they get older.

well, I for one feel I am not an animal, not even scientifically speaking. And yes, breastmilk is produced for our babies, as any animal milk is for the animal's young.
Are you saying that we should not take advantage of the benefits of cows (goat's or sheep's) milk?
Many women are not able to produce milk for their babies and there is an overall shortage in mothers milk, so why would peta think this is a good idea?

I am curious; are you vegan?

I am curious; are you vegan?

Nope, not a vegan but I drink soy milk and how is there an overall shortage in mother's milk? I understand that some women may not be able to lactate but there is infant formula.

All I'm saying is it's unnatural to pump a cow full of drugs to get it to constantly produce milk.

Yeah, that separation is rather nasty. And to clarify, even though I said it wasn't bad, I certainly wouldn't drink it over cow's milk. It is rather sweet. Of course, formula just tasted flat nasty.

The fat is actually what makes the breast milk very nutritious for the newborns. It's the good stuff for them.
