Yeah. Dave might just mention both of those. I don't see Ron being as excited about it.

Well duh, hes too cool for the room, I myself have no problem with a good GnR album though, not sure this one will be as good as appetite for destruction.

i would go as far as to say there is NO POSSIBLE FUCKIN CHANCE that one song on the album is near as good as the worst song on Appetite, nevermind the album being as good

Yeah, I listened to it the other day and was amazed it was their first album, I hold out hope that they will all walk out together and say that slash re-recorded all the guitar riffs and made another classic blues/rock album. Then I wake up with a hard-on.

Yeah, I have issues.

I'm more excited about the Flaming Lips releasing their "Christmas on Mars" film on DVD than I am some bullshit version of Guns n' Roses releasing an album.

He'll probably do a medley of his greatest songs from "The Ghost of Tom Joad" and "Nebraska".

1/10 for your troll attempt. "The Rising" and "Waitin' on a Sunny Day" both charted, and if you knew anything about music, love him or hate him, Springsteen is one of the BEST and most energetic live performers today.

You can deride his music, his political views, his voice. But you cannot deride his performance prescence.

EDIT: And last I checked, the Super Bowl really doesn't have an issue with keeping ratings

A Jersey guy defending Springsteen theres a surprise. Maybe Broooooce can preach to us about politics like he does at every opportunity. Oh thats right the election will be over. I am so sick of the "Bruce plays 3 hour shows" Who cares. 20 years ago his performances were exciting now its him preaching most of the time. His Glory Days are long past. The only reason The Rising was a hit was because of the circumstances its about.

The Rising is a great song though

The truth is, when I really sit and listen to Springsteen I don't hate it, and there's some of it I really like.

What turns me off are Springsteen fans.

(and who cares if he plays the Super Bowl or not. After Prince, all other artists are going to look lame)

What Bruce shows have you seen recently? Yes, Bruce does some preaching, but his shows aren't thick with it. he does a little thing before a politically motivated song and that's it.

I will GUARANTEE there will be zero political crap at the Super Bowl. The NFL won't allow it.

God the that band is so fucking over rated

So what? It charted? Big deal he was just like toby keith in releasing a song shortly after the attacks, and last time I checked the charts arent really littered with great songs lately so that point is moot.

And yes the super bowl does have a problem keeping half time ratings, thats why they over pay for those artists, other channels were slowly digging away at their audience.

I'm guessing that a lot of you have never seen Bruce live. He's one of the most dynamic perfromers I have ever seen. He will blow this shit up.

Have you seen a SB halftime show, ever? Its like handing out Valium to the tv audience.

Especially if he does that stripper-pole move with the mike-stand.

Not exactly topping Prince's phallic guitar, but pretty good nonetheless.

Maybe back in the 80's, sure... but the Stones, U2, and Prince put on amazing half-time shows. Petty's last year was OK, not great, but definitely pretty good.

I think you're just looking for an argument, and losing. plonk.

I respectfully disagree with you about Tom Petty's halftime show being "OK"

It wasn't "OK" it was more "meh."

Sorry, but anyone who looks like a drugged-out Afghan hound isn't exactly gonna fire up the crowd.

I cant remember the last one I watched cause everyone walks away during it, maybe the year after janet's nipplegate since we wanted to see what may happen this year but otherwise there is no reason to give a shit about it otherwise.

It will be, as all halftime shows are, a medley of his top radio hits.

I would definitly prefer him to come on with the E Street Band, do a 10 minute "Rosalita", and leave.

Isn't there already a thread about this? I cant find it but I know people were giving their Bruce setlists for the halftime. Bruce playing halftime was old news I thought. Anyway, nothing will top Prince but Springsteen will be awesome.
