I am 25 and have never voted.

I finally decided I would vote this year.

I feel a little bit more useful.

I registered as soon as I turned 18.

I even got an absentee ballot so that I could help elect Bill Clinton president in 1992.

'98, when I was 18.

I've voted in every general election, but only one primary, I think.

Don't know if I will bother voting this time. I'm registered in DC, so it doesn't really matter.

I got screwed because I didn't turn 18 until three weeks after the 1980 presidential election so I couldn't cast my vote for Jimmy Carter. I'm sure he would have won if I could have voted!

Yea, sorta the reason I hadn't before.

Have fun @ jury duty.

Actually I've been getting jury duty summons waaaaaay before I registered. I don't think registering to vote is the only way you get signed up.

While your vote may not "count" in a presidential election the way it might in, say, a committee or student council vote, voting in your local government elections - school district, town, county, congressional district and state - really do have a direct impact on your quality of life.

Everyone can name their governor or the President, but can everyone name their Senators and Representatives? (Mine have been changing A LOT lately ... I gotta stay up on that!!!)

That said, I've voted in every Presidential and Gubernatorial election since I was 18 and have started to vote in county, town and school board elections. I even voted in the primary this year, but think it may have been a mistake because declaring a party meant I opened myself up to receiving a LOT of mailings from my local party office. Why don't they spend the mailer money on effecting real change????

In fact, I just dropped my change-of-address registration in the mail today. Which means I'm getting in just under the wire for the registration deadline. (21 days prior to a general election.)

I registered at 18. I vote regularly for town things, but i sat out the last presidential election and i plan on sitting on this one as well.

Good for you!

As soon as I could register I did and voted absentee in the '96 presidential race. Still have only voted in the big ones every 4 years. This is my first year voting in a primary and participating in a caucus.

This is the first election I'm voting in. I missed the one when I was 18 because I really didn't care, then I didn't vote in the last one because I didn't want either, but this time I'm in it to win it!

Usually a couple weeks. When I applied for my name change, they sent me 3 cards, each with a different city/township listed as my residence.

No, the "vote early, vote often" doesn't apply to me; they only have me listed once in the big book o' voters.

I was glad they let me register at 17. As long as you were going to be 18 by Election day, you could. I turned 18 a little over a week before Election day.

I called called to Philly last year but was dismissed.

Is there anything about the defendant that would cause you to already have formed an opinion? (something like that)

Yes... he looks like a scumbag. If I saw him in the street I'd get ready.

If you're no longer registered, I think that NY's registration deadline was a couple weeks ago, so you missed it and can't register by mail.

You may be able to vote using a "provisional ballot" at your polling place. Contact your county's board of elections to find out what your options are; you should be able to find the information you need online.

In NY you don't have to have the voter card if you show ID and are listed on the voter rolls.

You can check if you're still registered here:
