Yesterday, Minnesota Representative Michelle Bachmann appeared on MSNBC's Hardball with Chris Matthew show. She appeared as a surrogate for the McCain campaign, but not only botched her talking points assignment, but exposed herself as a lunatic.

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/MGRKrUHR0OY&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/MGRKrUHR0OY&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Holy shit bad? Yes. But here is the beauty of our nation and how much technology has changed our political landscape.

Being a member of the House of Representative, Bachmann is up for re-election every two years. This year she is running against a seemingly likeable guy in Elwyn Tinkleberg. I don't know enough about Tinkleberg to really have an opinion. But here is the current state of the race from a DCCC poll:

Bachmann (R-inc) 42
Tinklenberg (D) 38

But here is the cool thing to me. There is a organization called Act Blue. Their mission is to elect more progressive candidates, which is fine. Mr. Tinklenberg is one of the candidates they try to support, and as of yesterday at about 3pm their online vehicle had raised about $2500 for him.

As of today that number is over $200,000. (http://www.actblue.com/entity/fundraisers/18660)

We've got some turds on both sides of the aisle and hopefully we can get rid of a few of them.

This broad is so so phony. I first saw her right after the whole Palin announcement, and she was completely madea fool out of on CNN by James Carville and a few others. They were actually laughing at her. All she kept saying was "Strong woman who can represent strong women, hard working mother, and is right near Russia" as how it was the best idea ever.

I'm glad she continues to show how much of a dumbass she is.

that interview was awful on both sides. Matthews was just trying to get her to say incriminating things and she wouldnt. But did it make her sound like a lunatic? thats a stretch. clearly gop brainwashed tho.

I'll give you three examples of lunacy that I saw:

On whether there are anti-American members of Congress:
"The news media should do a penetrating expose and take a look. I wish they would, I wish the American media would take a great look at the views of the people in Congress and find out are they are pro-America or anti-America."

On Obama's advisers:
"I think the people that Barack Obama has been associating with are anti-American, by and large."

On whether Barack Obama himself is anti-American:
"Absolutely, I'm very concerned that he may have anti-American views."

That my friends is Joe McCarthy type language. I'm embarrassed for her.

Beyond the fact that she's doing her job for advocating McCain and having a seperate ideology from that of Democratic Epo, I really don't see why this lady is being singled out as an idiot who is self-destructing her career by the OP.

Don't get me wrong, I don't agree with a thing she says, but I do not see how she is any more ridiculous than any other Republican. Paul R. Nelson hockey dad comes to mind when I think of ridiculous politicians.

I'm unimpressed by ideological slander whether it comes from the right or the left. If someone has an argument different from yours, it doesn't instantly make them a maniacal fool. Still pretty funny about how the donations skyrocketed after this talk though.

Anybody else think this lady looks alot like House's boss?

If she honestly believes what she's saying, then yeah, she's a lunatic. I doubt she does though.

In my opinion, these conservative bulldogs are doing more harm than good to McCain and the Republican party in general. All the socialist / marxist / terrorist hyperbole and dividing people into groups of American and Anti-American is backfiring. It reminds Independents and Moderates of how they were manipulated by the "you're either with us or you're against us" campaign going into the Iraq War.

And Chris Matthews should have asked her if McCain's relationship to Charles Keating should be on the table since who the candidates associate with say so much about them.

Although I dont agree with her, I think she did a better job than most dealing with this new style of surprise attack interview. The only part that made me cringe was at the end when she said the media should do an expose on congress, etc... But that was only after SEVERAL minutes of repeated attempts by Matthews to trip her up, using the delay to his advantage, etc...

It's nice to see that dems have money to throw around to a guy they know nothing about due to a knee jerk reaction to a tv appearance. Interviews like this make me wanna send my money to Tom Brokaw.

Obama's lead is down to 3 points now!!!!

http://www.reuters.com/article/politicsNews/idUSTRE49G0V320081019?feedType=RSS&feedName=politicsNews&rpc=22&sp=true

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democrat Barack Obama's lead over Republican John McCain in the presidential race has dropped to 3 points, according to a Reuters/C-SPAN/Zogby poll released on Sunday.

Obama leads McCain by 48 to 45 percent among likely U.S. voters, down 1 percentage point from Saturday. The four-day tracking poll, which has a margin of error of 2.9 points.

Pollster John Zogby said the numbers were good news for McCain, and probably reflected a bump following his appearance in the third and final presidential debate on Wednesday.

"For the first time in the polling McCain is up above 45 percent. There is no question something has happened," Zogby said.

He said the Arizona senator appeared to have solidified his support with the Republican base -- where 9 out of 10 voters now back him -- and was also gaining ground among the independents who may play a decisive role in the November 4 election.

Obama's lead among independent voters dropped to 8 points on Sunday from 16 points a day earlier.

'RED FLAGS'

"If that trend continues, it is something that has got to raise red flags for Obama," Zogby said. "It suggests to me that his outward look of confidence may be as much strategy as it is real."

Other national polls have given Obama a double-digit overall lead, fueled by perceptions he would do a better job managing the faltering economy and unhappiness with McCain's attacks on him over the past week.

But he has cautioned his supporters against overconfidence and most polls now put his lead in single digits.

Obama, 47, who would be the first black president, enjoys strong support among black, Hispanic, Catholic and Jewish voters while the 72-year-old McCain holds a narrower lead among male and white voters.

Women, who are expected to be an important factor in the election, still favor Obama by a 6-point margin, although this has been declining in recent days.

Independent Ralph Nader drew 2 percent support in the poll, conducted Saturday through Tuesday, while Libertarian Bob Barr registered 1 percent, both little changed.

The rolling tracking poll surveyed 1,210 likely voters in the presidential election. In a tracking poll, the most recent day's results are added while the oldest day's results are dropped in an effort to track changing momentum.

The U.S. president is determined not by the most votes nationally but by a majority of the Electoral College, which has 538 members allotted to all 50 states and the District of Columbia in proportion to their representation in Congress.

In history books or in legal briefs, if you state something as a fact you have to provide a citation or support for that fact. For instance, if you say that someone said something once, you cite an interview where the person said it. It allows the reader to find the source and confirm the fact.

So, I've seen McCain and others say that Obama's state senatorial run started in Bill Ayers' living room. Where's the support for that statement?

Could she use the phrase "radically liberal" more to attempt to explain herself?

Either way, she's gotten herself into a heap of trouble. From news about the campaign (http://minnesota.publicradio.org/display/web/2008/10/20/democrats_seek_to_unseat_michelle_bachmann/):

Bachmann's DFL challenger Elwyn Tinklenberg and The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee have used Bachmann's comments to raise money.

An official with the DCCC said the political committee intends to spend $1 million in TV ads targeting Bachmann. Tinklenberg said his campaign has collected more than $800,000 in donations since Friday, more than double what he had left in the bank on September 30th.

So my understanding is that she was relatively safe until running her mouth on Hardball. Then Tinklenberg goes from an $800K candidate to a $2.5M candidate over the weekend. This is a dangerous place for Bachmann and she did it to herself for being an idiot.

Is it Chris Mathews job to help her not look like an idiot? I think Republicans and Democrats would be wise to be guarded in their comments to the media, perhaps a healthy amount of skepticism.

Let's not pretend like Bachmann is some poor rube off the street that Chris Mathews took advantage of.

Everything that she's denying or saying she DID NOT say..
She very clearly DID say and it was practically verbatim too..

I think one of two things should happen to this lying cunt now..

For attempting to promote the continued practice of blowing smoke up the ass of the American people and trying to obtain political support via trickery and deceit, she should either:

A) Have the "Overhead Triple Gutwrench Backbreaker Rack" into a "Body Slam" onto the hard concrete..Applied by none other then former Minnesota Governor Jesse "The Body" Ventura..:king:
Oooorrr... And this would be my personal vote..

B) She should be hung from a yardarm by US Naval officer, Lieutenant Daniel Kaffee (although Sherby doesn't think we hang people from yardarms anymore)..But I know I'd love to see her tarred & feathered and swinging from a yardarm on a dozen or so of those 10,000 lakes..

But the good new is...I'm not mad at her, in fact I pray for her political soul:innocent:.. If only because she seems to be a fairly accurate representation of what her deviseive, hate mongering party has become and luckily she refuses to shut the lips above her hips..
So it almost seems asthough she won't stop until her and like minded people are exposed for who they really are..
