i like the fact that there is no clear "this is what the Ron & Fez show is suppose to be"
and sometimes Ron will interview an author...and maybe that doesn't interest you..but so fucking what? Next break will be funny
I will support any interview that Ron feels will be good on his show
(except that interview with Chris Lemon. OUCH)

maybe if you read a few more books, you would actually know how to spell interview. or sentence flow for that matter.

Maybe if you were more open to new things Ron's interviews wouldn't be such an inconvenience. Think about it.

I bought that book based on Ron's praise of it, but haven't gotten around to starting it yet.
Mine looks different though.

Same here.
And last week I ran out and bought the New York Dolls book after hearing the photographer talk about it.

I missed Ron talking about the C of D, but I'm not suprised that he liked it.
I'm sure you know John Kennedy Toole's background, but in case you don't, I suggest reading up on it before reading the book. It's what makes the book so special.
Enjoy.

would any other messageboard on any other website have a post like
"this guy is an asshole for promoting reading!"
it really is an odd thing

Most other messageboards don't accept board characters as equals.

The Robert Vaughn interview was like pulling fucking teeth, and you could hear Ron trying to squeeze blood from a rock. It was a shitty booking by Earl as it turned out.
Personally I'd like to hear them unleash Iris or maybe Jan Brady on these interviews like they did for Rutger Hauer, but that was probably my favorite interview ever.

I don't know if I agree that it was a "shitty booking by Earl". Yes, the interview didn't turn out well, but given Vaughn's history I think Ron really wanted to interview him. Unfortunately, Vaughn was a pompous ass, so it was a disaster.

the Robert Vaughn interview was compelling atleast because i never heard the RFK conspiracy theory either.
but i will always bust balls about the "Chris Lemmon" interview because..i could understand why they had him on the show...Jack Lemmon was one of our finest american actors. but his son was the dullest man who ever lived. Mixed with Fez' plugging his book as "taste of lemmon" instead of "twist of Lemmon" makes it the ultimate clusterfuck interview
BTW, it just shows what a lame person that Chris Lemmon is that his book about his father was called "Twist of Lemmon". Can't think of a title alittle more creative? Its the most obvious title of a book for a dude with the last name Lemmon ever!
That interview was so long ago, i think it was before Harry T. left the show. I should let it go

My friend just got a parachute man from Chuck Pahlinuk...authors suck and reading is more badder. However, Chuck is weird.

I bought a Chuck Pahlinuk book once because of a R&F appearance. Can't remember the name of the book, but it sucked.

Have any of you read John Kennedy Toole's other book, The Neon Bible? I haven't, read the back cover once & it didn't seem interesting. Just wondering if it's worth checking out.

Considered it but no, because I can't imagine a novel written by a 16 year old being very good. But I bet reading Neon Bible then rereading Confederacy of Dunces would be kind of interesting.

No that was haunted and that is a weird one. Go to your local library and see if you cant find survivor or choke and give them a chance. If you hate them I owe you a ronnie b cupcake.

Yes, Haunted. I'll give the other ones a chance, I've been reading too much doom and gloom political stuff lately anyway.
Here's my suggestion to you - Knockemstiff by Donald Ray Pollack. Being in Indiana, I'm sure you'll totally get it.

What sets Ron & Fez apart from other shows is that they interview interesting people, not just celebrities.
If I want those interviews I can borrow Fez's People magazine.
R&F have introduced my to more artists, musicians, authors, etc than most mainstream shows dare to expose to their audience.

I don't think it was a shitty booking as it was a bad set of circumstances. They interviewed Vaughn two and half years ago for a series he was on and it was a solid interview.
