from the early 90s. She was always the coolest person in the room (to me) whenever we went out.
Then I lost track of her. I thought there was no way she still had the apt on St. Mark's.
Then I joined facebook. WAY TOO MANY BELLS AND WISTLES!! But Jen contacted me.
and we talked for an hour and a half. There are VERY FEW people I can just talk to out of the blue. She's one of them.
WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

Facebook is great!! I connected with another friend.
The other day I was going thorough a book and found a postcard from a good friend. It said:
You are an extraordinary woman, & don't you forget it.
The SAD thing is it was dated 4/15/91.
We lost touch and in 1997 I sent her a "Darwin Award" e-mail. I actually QUESTIONED myself as I cc'd here, but in college, she thought people were stupid too.
Within 10 minutes, I got an e-mail from her berating me for sending such a horrible e-mail.
The year before I had visited her as she was getting her 2nd masters in Art History at the U of Del at Newark. It really was an AWFUL weekend. She had SO SO SO changed. She yelled at me for falling asleep during 400 Blows and berated me on how I owed her the rental fee.
I don't know WHAT WENT WRONG!!!! She was cool at Fordham (BA) and even when she got her first MA at Princeton. Then she became a major cunt when she went to the U of Del.
Should I try to find her? I DO wonder what she is up to.

It's cool that you're able to connect with people you haven't talked to in a long time. I've had facebook since college, so I've never really "lost touch" with anyone. There are people who I haven't spoken to in years, but I've seen their wedding and baby pictures via facebook. It's kind of sad, there's never any catching up to do; you get live updates as to what people are up to. There are times when I've thought about just trashing the whole thing and figuring that I'll stay in touch with the people who I have contact with in the "real world," but I don't want to become a technological Blowhard.

I chatted with her for at least two hours. It was so fun!!!
She has an apt on St. Marks and the house in Jersey.
In a way, it's like 15 years didn't make a difference. THAT'S FRIENDSHIP!!!
