(second man was a boarder staying at their house)

anyone following this? they release several videos today that you can find linked off this site;

http://www.azfamily.com

here is the full text version from the start, scroll to the bottom for the first reports then work your way to the top;

i guess they werent treating him as a suspect at first so i think its fine that they talked to him, but once he starts saying that he did it i would think they have to read him his rights and get him a representative no? well at any rate, they didnt and it is sure to muck things up.

also, im going to have to assume the cops know a lot more than has been released, although they commented after the confession that they "still have to unravel the mystery of why". well if they still dont know why then have they even figured out a version of the truth that they strongly believe? because in that video the kids story is a bit all over the place (the last video, the one he confesses in) and you can certainly make a case that he was fed some of his responses by the woman questioning him.

i would think a defense lawyer will have a field day with this and get it thrown out no problem (possibly, but what do i know, im not a lawyer i just play one on ronfez.net).

the reason im making such a point of it is because very early after he confessed the police (not prosecutors, the cops!) were calling for him to be tried as an adult! they called the murders premeditated and they hoped this 8 year old would be tried as an adult and face LIFE WITH NO POSSSIBILITY OF PAROLE EVER.

they sure as hell BETTER have a lot more information that then have released.

Exactly. Can an 8 year old be so messed up as to be a danger to society? He's only 8!

its completely crazy, the kid probably still believes in monsters and santa claus. when i first heard about it, since im not around kids very much, i had to stop and think hmmm just what the hell do kids know at 8?

but then hearing him talk in those interviews, and remembering my nieces at that age, the kid is clueless. he certainly doesnt fully understand what he has done, he sounds like a damn baby.

i have no idea what was true and what was a lie from those videos, he talks about "the other men coming back" and the interviewing cop doesnt even ask "what other men?"!!

ok a little more just came out at 6 arizona time;

the kid had gunshot residue on him, quite a bit, so he definitely fired the gun at least part of the time (most likely, i suppose its possible he was right next to the shooter maybe? but im thinking that part that he admits is true, he did fire some and possibly all of the shots)

there were at least 8 shots fired, and it sounds like it was a shotgun and had to be reloaded at least once, which he says he did. (more likely it was reloaded several times right?)

i still think the confession gets thrown out, well hopefully it never goes to court...

they talk about him being disciplined over chores two days before the shooting, the woman is very leading in that part too so i cant tell if the kid is telling the truth, just telling them what they want to hear, or trying to still fabricate a story as things go along.

well after seeing that new video and news clip im more convinced that he definitely shot some or all of the the shots (all shots were from one gun), and that he is partially or almost completely lying in the interviews.

this does show that there is more than we are aware of, and so maybe further details will give some reason why the cops think the kid should be tried as an adult.

i wonder what his mother has had to say, or if she has talked to the boy yet. i wouldnt be surprised to hear eventually that another kid or even an adult was in the house when it happened.

edit - can anyone confirm what the murder weapon was? i have seen shotgun and now i have seen .22, i have also read that they were each shot in the head 4 times. and that the kid had gunshot residue and blood on his hands but no blood spatter.

edit2 - well great now im going to be up all night researching whatever is out there on this case, im not posting anymore til i have a better grasp of the facts. :P

I think some people are just born not being right in the head. A bad seed. Sociopaths don't spring forth into the world as adults, maybe he fits that category.

you may be right kat, just found this;

http://www.wmicentral.com/site/news.cfm?newsid=20190155&BRD=2264&PAG=461&dept_id=505965&rfi=6

"Hogle said several members of the Romans family arrived at the funeral home while he was there. He pulled a couple family members aside in an attempt to calm them down, and it was during that time that Romans' wife said her husband called her right after he got home from work. While discussing work and other topics with her husband, she told the officer she could hear the 8-year-old boy in the background yelling at her husband, "Tim, I need you to come in here, something's wrong with dad. Tim, come in the house, something's wrong." Hogel said Ms. Romans insisted the officers talk to the youngster - "He knows something; he was there when something bad happened to my husband. Make sure that they talk to him about this." Ms. Romans said the last thing her husband said to her was that the Romero youngster said something was wrong and he needed to go look into it."

incredible, i still dont know if i could find him criminally responsible for murder, but it certainly does sound like he "laid in wait" for the second man, after killing his father.

it also confirms that it was a .22 caliber rifle, but the cop on scene says he saw pin holes in their clothes from the .22, so all the shots were not to the head.

why this isnt being widely reported (the above details) is beyond me, the gag order was just issued today as far as i can tell and i never saw that information from the hearing on the 11th on any national news site.

after reading all i could find on the big news sites and even that one arizona site, and then after watching the interviews, never did i think that it would end up being like this. im seriously shocked. im practically wishing that this kid had been abused severely just so i dont have to acknowledge that yep, a kid can just be that fucked up for no good reason at all. :(

i could see an argument if the worst appears to be true that he should never be free again, that he is quite possibly a serial killer in the making, i mean an 8 year old that can sit and spin lies like that without breaking down after what he had done/been thru is really troubling, but considered an adult and life in prison i just cant buy it.
