Yeah, I gotcha. We've been talking for about 3 weeks now, and she pretty much immediately decided that I was the sweetest, nicest boy ever. And then as we continued talking, she continued to think that even more. Oh and there's also the part where I found her to be awesome and how I like her a whole lot. But this is about ME.

And we still have another full month before I actually go up and meet her, so it's not like she came across me online yesterday, and I'm taking the first flight outta New York this morning.

But in the few weeks, we've talked a LOT, and the feelings have become very strong and very real. And of course I had to go ahead tonight and say that I never break promises (which, to be fair, is pretty much completely true), which prompted her to make me promise that I would never hurt her. That was heavy, maaaaaaaaaan.

We also had a whole conversation, though, last night, about how we don't really 'get' the idea of people who are specifically looking for "short term relationships". Although I did quickly find a way to rationalize it by reminding her that she not too long ago was playing the role of rebound girl for a guy who was going through a bad divorce. But I still got her point, and we agree that when you get into a relationship, especially when you talk a lot before it becomes something official and have a long feeling out process, the intention is pretty much supposed to be that you want to spend a very long time with that person.

I'm going to take a step back because I have some experience in this arena.

I met a girl online and it was a pretty long distance relationship. But we talked a LOT. Just like you did.

She wanted a LOT more than I was ready to give to her. And I cared for her very, very deeply. But I knew problems would start cropping up when she told me she loved me (over the phone) as a solution to a fight we had gotten into. (and yes, we had met and had a physical side of the relationship at that point)

The point is, you want way, way, way, way too much for just a fledgling relationship. You need to let it breathe.
