I was once trying to get home for Thanksgiving, but my flight was snowed in, so I and a fellow passenger decided to take the train. We made it about 1/2 way to Chicago when the train derailed, so Dell (that was his name) and I rented a car, taking turns driving.

About 3 hours into the trip, Dell fell asleep while driving. Waking up to the sound of oncoming traffic, he slammed on the breaks, putting the car into a skid.

When it finally came to rest, we continued on our way; however, at this point, and un-be-knownst to us, we were driving in the direction of oncoming traffic. People tried to warn us, but we thought they were just drunk and paid them no mind.

Long story short, we darn near got killed, narrowly squeezing in between 18-wheelers, losing the front driver's side door and all of our side molding in the process..... but it didn't stop there. Dell also dropped a cigarette in his lap, which resulted in a car fire.

Broke, cold, driving in a burnt, wrecked automobile, we happened upon this roadside motel, where I was able to trade my Rolex watch for a night's lodging.

Well, several misadventures later, we eventually made it home, with me inviting a lonely Dell to share in my family's holiday.

I've since gone on to make so blockbuster hits as "Father Of The Bride" and "Bowfinger," but, well, poor Dell passed away several years ago.

Anyway, that's my travel horror story

One time I was delayed in West Palm Beach Florida for 3 hours before I was told that the only way I could fly out that day was if I took a cab to Ft. Lauderdale and waited for another 4 hours. Since I needed to be back in Jersey that night, I took the cab and wound up waiting a total of 7 hours before stepping on a plane. That sucked.

IT'S TIME TO PLAY THE GAME-AHHH!
