What's everybody doing for celebrating the new year? I am attending a swank black tie event with a casino charity gambling motif and a kick you in the ass boogie band playing it up. Even rented a house on the property so i can stumble over afterwards and play guitar and sing like a rock star till dawn.

This is the first year of my life I am truly excited for New Years. It's my least favorite holiday so I just usually stay home while all my friends go out. I would always volunteer to work that night and the next morning at my old job.

BUT, this year about 20 of my closest friends and I are going to my buddies cabin in Lake George. We've had Cabinpalooza's up there before but this will be the first time for New Years and everyone is making it up, unbelievably.

It'll be 4 days of drinking, snow football, some skiing/snowboarding/snowmobiling and I can't stop preparing for it. There's no TV, no computer, no cell reception so the days last forever and my buddy cooks huge meals for everyone and we have drinking games and other competitions. Things that would never seem fun to people who weren't there (or inebriated) but for some reason, hitting golf balls with a baseball bat over his 60 acre property in the snow is so fun. Must be the alcohol and lack of entertainment.

I can't wait! Now if I can only find someone to kiss at midnight...

Going to the Mean Fiddler in midtown. All you can drink/eat till 100am for 100$. My date knows the bartender so we are riding for free. This will be my first ever new years in NYC. I can't wait!

Sounds fun, I went to Lake George once when I was a kid and won a "kids boogie boarding" race.. granted there were like only 3 other kids; one was fat and one might have been mildly retarded; either way, i'll take any win i can get.. GO ME!

I went upstate last year for Memorial weekend: no internet, no cell signal, no tv, no indoor plumbing :help: It's amazing how much fun you can have just drinking and playing croquet all day. :drunk: I also fell in a pond full of tadpoles and frogs :thumbup: I could have done without the outhouse and having to pee behind a tree, so I was happy when I got home.

I will be out in Clinton, NJ where my friend will be DJ-ing at a bar/club.. he plays the best music ever including 80's homage crap that us getting-older folk love. It will be the first time I spend New Years with Both of my best friends (and a ton of other friends) so I am very excited... and the bar is at a hotel so we are all getting rooms so we can be as silly as can be! wheeeeeee!
