I don't think I even have the words to sum up this story. This person was truly an evil, evil bastard and I hope he rots in hell.
I think I'll be sick if the 8 year old who was shot in the face was his daughter, but as he and the ex-wife were only married for a year, maybe it's not her.
I don't get why being married for a year sets someone off like this.
Ugh. I'm nauseous.

I've been disgusted by this story all night. I'm just glad the 8 year old is expected to be OK. The first time I read it, I thought she was killed. This is one of those cases where I really wish the fucker had failed in his attempt at killing himself, so he could get his ass kicked.

8 year old is going to live, but she has a severe facial injury according to CNN.
I'm starting to piece this together - he apparently lived with his wife and a child (according to fox news). I'm starting to think the 8 year old is either his step daughter or he and the wife were together and had a baby before they got married.

I read this in a different article.
Pardo was carrying a large present that turned out to be a homemade pressurized device to spray a flammable substance.
How fucked up is that? That's comic book shit.
What a psychopath.

Unless he used the flamethrower to torch people... the idea of him setting fire to the house is the least fucked up part of the story.

What it tells me, along with the fact that he knew that there used to be a Santa that made the rounds there, he planned this thing for a while. That's really fucked up. Coming from someone who had no documented history of violence, this guy made a serious effort to plan a totally fucked up attack against the entire family. This guy was as evil as evil can be.

That's kind of what I was saying. The whole background and santa outfit and shit is psychotic.
Shooting a kid point blank is more heartless than anything else.

He was apparently a mechanical engineer or something, so making a homemade flamethrower wasn't a big deal. I'm kind of wondering why the media is avoiding using the term "flamethrower" instead of "home made device". The description CNN used - a tank with pressurized accelerant - it essentially a flamethrower.

The way I read it was he used that to spray flammable liquid.
Was it on fire while he was spraying it, or did he set the fire after he sprayed everything?

No, the device only sprayed liquid, and then he lit it.
Apparently, he was severely burned in the resulting fire (to the point that the Santa suit melted to him), and that might be what led him to commit suicide. He had more guns, cash, and a ticket to Canada in the car at his brother's, leading to the appearance that he was going to do more.

He wished his neighbor a merry xmas before all of this.
