View Full Version : Something on my person is making CVS security sensors go off.

It's happened at two different stores in the last week. I didn't stop to bother checking with the people cause I knew I hadn't stolen anything, but this is going to get annoying if it keeps happening as I go to these stores frequently and they're going to start recognizing me or getting suspicious. What the fuck could it be? I have a new wallet from Christmas but it wasn't bought in a CVS and there's no tags or anything on it. I guess anyone who works at a CVS would be especially helpful on this one.

Based on your modquotes, I'd say it is a Mo Detector.

sometimes jeans have that weird metal security sticker inside the pockets (kinda like what on cds). maybe you should check your clothes for that.

I had a pair of boots that used to set the detectors off. It was never scanned at check out. A friend of mine worked at a auto zone and he deactivated them for me.
You get any new boots, jacket lately?

Could be a tag in the new wallet. Could be a security tag in your pants. I noticed I was beeping with a certain pair of pants and there actually was a security tag in the back pocket. The things are universal so you will beep at any store that uses the same system--cvs, walgreens, best buy, circuit city, kohls, etc.
One thing you could try is, if you track down the item that's causing it but can't find the tag, ask the store to run the item over the deactivator for you.

Ben Wa balls?
Finally, someone gives an answer that is plausible, and easily resolved.
Try holding a huge magnet near your asshole...you might find a long lost ben wa ball that still has a security device inside it.

Most likely its the wallet. Check the inside of all the pockets, or simply have someone at a store run it over a security pad, if it beeps it had a sticker and should be deactivated.

This happened to me the day after Christmas at a supermarket. Turns out the jacket I had gotten for Christmas had a security tag that had to actually be cut off of the jacket. I had a cashier do it for me.

In the advanced stages of kleptomania, the patient may steal items without consciously realizing he or she has committed a theft.

Happened to me before X-Mas. Bought a few games for my son at a Game Stop. Left the store.....no beeps. Walked in to Hot Topic for my daughters gifts. Got what she wanted and went to walk out. Sure enough, beep beep beep. Turns out it was one of the games that set it off. Why would it set the beeper off at Hot Topic but not at Game Stop?? Knowing that, I could have robbed Game Stop blind.
Check the wallet. It is prolly in there.

If you happen to be a man of exquisite style, such as myself, it would be the hidden security tag inside one of your gloves:

Fuck those security guys at the door at Best Buy. I never stop for them. Why the hell should I show my receipt for some DVD-r's I bought?
You don't have to stop, and they can't stop you.

I bought a jacket at Kohl's tonight, and the alarm went off as I left. I gave the jacket back to the cashier to check, and she said the rf chip was inside of one of the sewn in tags! She gets a pair of scissors and hands them to me saying, "You cut if off. I'm afraid I'll cut your jacket". What the hell kind of security set up is that?
