I am no longer unemployed! I have been unemployed since October 17, on my own accord. I left a job I absolutely hated right before my wedding to prep, get myself together and find something I'd like to do. I have been offered a position I have been interviewing for since November, and while the company has decided that they don't want to hire anyone full time - yet, they are interested in bringing me on for a bit.

I'll be working 5 days a week, 5 hours a day at a place two miles up the road from my school and since I don't actually (and VERY thankfully, mind you) need to work, it's just icing on the cake to have the new income coming in. At eventually both the company and I will have the chance to evaluate how I fit there. This is extra nice for me since, if I don't like it there, I know I'm not stuck and there will be no hard feelings. I am very sour and have been very anxious to leap into any job after how bad my last one was. While I realize I should be thankful at all to have had work (and I am) I just was so absolutely miserable there that it was affecting all areas of my life.

I am thankful for the opportunity to work and I just hope my good luck (and the well wishes of those who knew about the process sent me) can spill over to some of you still looking for and in need of work. I have been in a really big funk since I left work, enjoying my days off and enjoying my time in the Paltalk Room during the show, but I was going stir crazy and just getting progressively lazier and more depressed so I am really excited to have a "routine" back.

Congratulations and welcome back to the work force!

The old adage "Idle hands are the Devil's workshop" rings true once you've been out of work for awhile.

It's funny how much we complain about our jobs yet once we're unemployed for a few weeks you really start losing your sense of self worth and depression starts creeping in. Routines and the need to feel productive seem to be unassailable human traits.
