Flying cars! (http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/industry_sectors/engineering/article5489287.ece?print=yes)

Terrafugia claims it will be able to fly up to 500 miles on a single tank of petrol at a cruising speed of 115mph. Up to now, however, it has been tested only on roads at up to 90mph.

What if someone has an accident, does the car plummet down? will there have to be things built to prevent that?

"If it survives its first test flight, the Terrafugia Transition, which can transform itself from a two-seater road car to a plane in 15 seconds, is expected to land in showrooms in about 18 months’ time. "

I heard Cogswell's Car/Plane will take only 10 seconds to transform from car to a plane

those 5 seconds will be the reason for Jetson immediate termination

This will be big. I'm putting all my money in Spacely's Space Sprockets, LLC. (NYSE: SSP)Cogswell Cogs was the higher profiting business. You're going to lose millions.

This thing car/plane will cause mass hysteria for air traffic control, Reagan would be proud.

Is it a car? Is it a plane? Actually it’s both. The first flying automobile, equally at home in the sky or on the road, is scheduled to take to the air next month.

If it survives its first test flight, the Terrafugia Transition, which can transform itself from a two-seater road car to a plane in 15 seconds, is expected to land in showrooms in about 18 months’ time

I'm reminded of that line in Live and Let Die where the chaps pursuing James Bond in the speed boat drive the thing up on land and crash into the sheriff's car. The deputies come along and gaze in wonderment at the scene.

One says,
What in the world is that?

The other says,
Why, that's one-a them new car-boats they comin' out with...

The sheriff doesn't laugh...
