View Full Version : Goodbye NYC

Last night, I spent my last tour of duty working for the great people of NYC! It was a memorable occasion for me and a fitting end to my career.

I have spent my entire adult life working for the city and have had a great time doing so. I have no regrets in doing what I have done and can honestly say that I am proud of what I have accomplished.

In closing, I would just like to say how glad I am to leave but also have a feeling of sadness at leaving many people that I am proud to call friends.

All I ask is, next time you see a cop or fireman or sanitation worker, just take the time to say "Thank You". Trust me, it will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again.

Thanks Reeshy, we appreciate it in ways that you can possibly imagine. Even if no one ever gets to say so in person, there is always that thanks there...My pops is a retired cop and my bro is a current one. I had the option of taking a position as a cop, ahead of my brother, but I was in school and choose my path of being a schoolteacher instead. No regrets, and plenty of level headedness from growing up around blue collar workers my whole life (I actually was one myself for a short time, and not a cop either, but that is a chapter for my memiors). There are sanctimonious people that I work with who think they are more pious than a cop or a fireman and have no appreciation for what you guys, and gals, do. I appreciate it, and good luck in any endeavor you choose in life...

It is truly a different breed that can protect and serve so nobly and for such a duration of time. I honestly salute you, Reeshy, and want to say you are a far better man than I could ever hope to be. Thanks for all of your service, and congratulations on your retirement. New York City in general, and the NYPD in particular, is slightly diminished by your departure. Good luck and God bless.

Hey Reeshy, K... I also want to extend my thanks to you for trying to keep the piece in NYC and for your dedication.

God bless you and thank you for your fine work.

I will keep that in mind when I see them on the streets.

Reeshy...thank you for doing the job that so many people do not have the balls to do.

The Police, Firemen, and other services stand out as real heroes to me.

I wish you the best of luck in your upcoming retirement and on you next career.
