I still print most stuff out to read it if it is longer than 2 pages. It hurts my eyes and my attention strays way faster than if I'm reading on paper.

Screw you trees, I want to keep my eyesight!

I despise paper and print outs. I barely ever print anything.

So I am guessing you are not a person who would buy Kindle for reading.

No, I love the feel of a book. I'm going to be a cranky old woman when paper is virtually eliminated from this world.

OMG, that made me want to vomit. I'm a terrible person.

I didn't know Mohinder's affliction from Heroes was a real. He has powers, burn him at the stake!

Look at the GAP jumping in on an opportunity.

Ghouls.

Brillian ghouls, but ghouls nonetheless.

I can read much longer on a LCD screen than I can on a CRT screen, but, yeah, I can't read very long there.

The cool thing about the Kindle and Sony's reader is the "digital ink" thing they use, which doesn't attempt to light the screen. So those do avoid the problem you get trying to read from a computer screen for very long.

that's why i subscribe to the monthly print edition ronfez.net messageboard that Mikeyboy puts out. it does make posting a bit inconvenient, tough...

I have a 22" high def screen that has several adjustments for the various things you do on a computer such as the internet. I can read on the computer for hours without eye fatigue.

I have 2 book cases and a couple boxes of books, I will forever buy books.

I am fine either way, but do need to lay down and read in bed before I go to sleep and much rather do so from a book -- or magazine -- than a lap top.

I'm with ya, Aggie. This is why I don't think books will ever go away. Newspapers and magazines might, but not books.

There's just something cool and comforting about a book. Holding it, smelling it, turning the pages...it's so much more real than reading electronic words with a light behind them.

Thank God the internet is a dying fad. Maybe computer usage will go down too.

I don't think books will go away too soon but I could see technology like kindle being used for text books and more.

By the way, if you're trying to decide between the Kindle and the Sony Reader, be advised that Ronnie's blog is only compatible with the Kindle.

I bought a Sony Reader, found this out, and I took it right back to the store, slamming it on the counter and screaming "FUCK YOU FUCKSTICKS!"
