Smoke Pot or Have Patience

I used to be a big pothead. I actually still have the beard and sandals. But since becoming a father (twice over) and given that Piuki really doesn't jive with it, I don't smoke anymore. I'll admit it, I miss it. I enjoyed getting high. I realize now that smoking as much as I did is not a very healthy thing, both mentally and physically, but really what is? However, I also believe that it is no worse than alcohol and should be legalized. Now here's my predicament.

I currently am employed. Although I love my job, I'm currently looking for a new one. Great timing, right? But realistically for what I do, or could be doing, I'm underpaid. My company is still privately owned and notorious for paying under market value. But it's a wonderful environment to work in. Trade off. Unfortunately, now with two kids, an hour twenty commute is getting a bit long. My goal is to find a job to pay me more and be about 30 minutes away. I'm not having much luck.

Now I'm sure that any new job will come with a drug test. So I'm curious to test the Restaurant/Cigarette theory. Back when you were able to smoke in restaurants, the best way to get your meal to the table was to light up a smoke. I'm wondering if I start to smoke pot again, would I be rewarded with an interview, and a piss test. At this point, I'll take my chances with the piss test. Whadya think?

Oh, were this California. As liberal is the great state of NY is, I don't think they've come around on the whole medicinal marijuana thing.

if your gonna try to look for a new job, i dont think rolling up is a good idea. employers are being very selective because they can, and drug tests are another way to weed people out (no pun intended). the job market is not that great, in case you didnt notice :o you mention that you have kids to support now. i wouldnt risk losing a job opportunity that might better their lives because i want to smoke a doob.

maybe im just overthinking it.. :flush:

I do at least have the security of the job I have now. Of course that could change any day should they decide I'm no longer necessary.

Try looking for a contracting company... they generally pay more (though their benefits/ vacation time is shorter) but they do treat you as a W2 employee and contract you out to jobs...

smoke a little weed brother.just not at home when the kids are there and dont waste all ur money on it .you'll be fine.4 a better high +to save weed+not inhale paper,blunts,etc use a bong

Check on the sandals. Because of the production floor I have to wear safety shoes and they have yet to develop steel-toed sandals.

I'm a chemist, and it's very rare to be a contracted chemist. By degree I'm an engineer but ten years out and I've yet to hold such a title. If I did I'd have a better chance to join a contracting firm.
