I used to drink captain and coke all the time, but the caffeine was keeping me up. So I switched to the ginger ale. It's kind of sweet, but its delicious.

I don't think I've ever tried captain and tonic. I'll have to try it out.

I'm trying to remember exactly when I came to the realization that drinking to excess wasn't a necessity nor was it romantic in any way to be a misunderstood drunk. I know it was pretty late in life - probably my early to mid-thirties, when the hangovers started getting rougher.

I still enjoy an occasional scotch or two, but I honestly can't remember the last time I got drunk.

Sobriety is over rated. If you feel you are drinking a little too much, just slow down a little. I was up to an 18 pack a night and went cold turkey for a year. I never experienced the withdrawls I read about in The Big Book. It was more of a habit to me but the people around me had me convinced I was an alcoholic and that I couldn't live without it. I now drink on the weekend.

Listen asshole. Drinking is fun. Drugs are fun. Alot of shit that is bad for you is fun. The key is moderation. If you cant control your shit then stop altogether. Me personally i have a huge weakness for Oxycontins and Diladid and morphine and syringes. I know i cant just shoot up one night and then stop. So i identified that problem and now i stay away from it. I dont have the same problem with anything else . So just look into your personal inventory and make some decisions. I decided not to shoot or snort opiates. Maybe you should do some thinking. Good luck with it.
