To go off on a bit of a tangent (this time, this wasn't discussed on the show), I have that same sort of skepticism about getting too excited about Pat Summit winning her 1,000th game. Yeah, that's cool, but a lot of those wins were gathered when UT was one of the few colleges actually taking women's basketball seriously. So in that time, if you actually were a skilled women's basketball player, UT was pretty much your only choice. Even now, I'd only say there are 4 or 5 really prestigious women's basketball programs.

So, yeah, it's a wonderful thing, and Summit definitely deserves to be in the Basketball Hall of Fame, but let's not get too ahead of ourselves and start putting her in the same circle as Dean Smith, Coach K, or Adolph Rupp.

But there's a "what have you done for me lately" factor that keeps me from putting Les Habs at the top of this list. They haven't won one in about 15 years, and they've been also-rans for a lot of that time. Meanwhile, teams like the Steelers, Celtics, Yankees, and Packers have won championships and at least contended in recent years.

I think what have you done for me lately applies to the Yankees, as well. Everytime someone brings up 26 World Championships, I'm always curious how many that person actually witnessed. Wow, your team was awesome in the 20s. Congrats.
