I probably should state that it'd be a human. I forgot this was .net
If he doesn't care then why is he making this crazy argument that his site is good for society?
I don't think he's arguing that its "good for society"...but rather it has a "place in society".

I don't think he's arguing that its "good for society"...but rather it has a "place in society".
He made the "good for Society" argument earlier...he's doing again right now with the "preserve marriage" comment.
I agree completely; the problem is more the lying and deception than the sex.
and who is worse, the site or the people who use it?
The people who use it are basically weak-willed and lonely. AshleyMadison is hardly the first business venture to profit off of these types of people, although I understand some people's belief that the site is guilty of aiding and abetting in dishonesty.

The way I am seeing this is the website is a tool, like a hammer is a tool or a gun is a tool. It isn't that it exists, but how it is used that is good or bad.
You don't have to be married to use ashleymadison.com, but you can be and aren't looked down upon for it. The intent is to find a sexual partner; whether you are single or in a relationship is essentially moot.
I am not saying that I agree with the moral choice of cheating (I wouldn't do it), but it is just a website; the intent is up to the user.

Um, I'm fairly certain that if you're single you can't use ashleymadison. Isn't part of the advertising gimmick that everyone on it is married or in a committed relationship and thus, those people want to keep it secret like the person looking?

wait I missed it, why did they say it was called Ashley Madison?
ashley and madison were the #1 and #2 girl baby names when they started the site- that's what I was calling f-ing awesome
wait I missed it, why did they say it was called Ashley Madison?
because they wanted to be woman friendly;
when they created the site, the 2 most popular name for little girls was
Ashley
and
Madison.
so they felt that if women named their girls that, they'd be comfortable with that.
that is so evil.

it's just a cynical way to make a living. yes, of course, people who want to cheat will cheat. he is, however, glossing over the ugliness of lying to your spouse. making money from pictures of topless sorority girls seems innocent in comparison.
He came across very well on the radio, though.

No, they've opened it up to single people who don't mind being "the other man" or "the other woman."
That's why one caller raised the question about a mistress gaining power over a married man she hooked up with on the site.

I signed up on that site last year to snoop around and better understand it. I have never been back to it since that day. I still keep getting messages and notifications for new members every week but I just don't care to sign back in....I wonder how many of the 3 million advertised members are truly members...
Yes, you can be single to sign up there. I wanted to see how it is anonymous... the site made me angry cause I looked up a few profiles there and in some cases it seemed that their wife had no clue about their unhappiness....
BUT I agree with what the guy said, if they were going to cheat they were going to do it without their service... and if they wanted to get caught they would...

It's not new, but there is a lot less focus on it since the ads "got honest" and the site started catering to married people.
Like he said in the interview, ashleymadison's ads danced around the cheating issue initially. They couched the language carefully and focused more on the "dating site" aspect over the "married people's dating site" aspect.
So, single people can and do still use the service although the ads and press cater toward married people looking for discreet affairs.
Funny. Today, it seems weird that my parents are one of the few couples that are still together.

I was wondering the same which made me curious about it and I wanted to snoop around how anonymous it really is (you had to sign up to go past the front page) ... see they show no pictures but as soon as people sent you a message they add them so it really is possible to run into someone you know before you meet them :)

I don't think you can get it if you are fired, like for not doing your job correctly.
It may depend upon the state, but you can usually get unemployment for "unexpected" termination of employment.
In some cases your former place of employment can petition against you getting unemployment, but from my understanding that doesn't occur too frequently. But as you mentioned, gross negligence or doing something illegal will often be a reason an employer fights against unemployment benefits being granted.
