The caption that got me was they started emergency landing procedures at 3,000 feet, normally done at 32,000 feet.

I'm still amazed every time I see this story.

Hah! Good point. Hopefully his inevitable book/movie deal will let him retire in case I need to fly US Air again.

I don't remember the news reporting that after the emergency landing the passengers sat on the wing eating sandwiches and dipping their feet in the refreshing sub zero water.

Those weren't sandwiches, they were White Castle sliders.

Nice job on the landing...I like where the other pilot keys up and tells the tower "I think he said he was landing in the Hudson"
