I didn't know those fucks could fly.
Im driving up Campgaw Rd in Mahwah and about 100 feet from Pulis Ave., this black thing comes flyin out in front of my car. I hit it pretty hard but luckily didnt really damage my car. I look and see this fuckin TURKEY sliding across the rd. I stopped to check my car and when I looked back it was gone, so I guess I didnt kill it. But there was a nice puff of feathers in the road

I hit a turkey when I was 17 and called my father. He told me to put in my trunk and bring it back home.

Wild Turkeys are surprisingly agile fliers and very cunning, unlike their domestic counterparts. Turkeys are very cautious birds and will fly or run at the first sign of danger. In flight they can reach a speed of 50 miles per hour (80 km/h).[citation needed] They usually fly close to the ground for no more than a quarter mile (400 m)

I used to drive a VW Van in high school and I was going down a back road by a golf course I lived near one night. There were no street lights on the road so it was relatively dark and suddenly I saw a flash of white followed by a loud thud coming from the front of my van. I got out and looked for whatever I hit and saw a large Muscovy Duck on the side of the road. After about a minute the damn thing got up and stumbled away leaving me with a dent in the front of my van about foot in diameter and a hell of a lot less money in my bank account after the repair.

you should watch where you are driving next time.
Are you sure it was a wild turkey and not a turkey vulture? Those things are hideous.

When I was living in Lumberton, there used to be a flock of wild turkeys who congregated on the side of the road in Mt Holly. Granted it's a somewhat rural area, but it was still a surreal sight to see turkeys chilling in a restaurant parking lot.

Apparently, we have a Turkey farm right near where Campgaw meets Pulis Ave. I remember one got lose into the lot at work one time, but I had never seen one actually fly, nevermind fly across the road like 2 feet off the ground
