Interesting that they're playing Lewis Black worst of.
He's one guy that wanted no part of O and A when they were only on satellite.
Then when Free FM started he was a semi-frequent guest.
I wonder if he's still/no longer a "friend of the show?"

I only caught half of the show, but the half I caught was good. I had to flip away during the Adler interview because his voice bugs me and the other guy talking up the "rock-n-roll lifestyle" was annoying, but the rest was pretty solid.

Nice that they could keep the same groove going instead of breaking it up.

I am not voting because I didn't think it was good or bad. I think they are very raw from what happened and were distracted. It would be more fair to throw this poll up in a week or so when they have their footing and have dealt with what happened.

6-11 am EST which was great. Jimmy reiterated how much he loved the XM side creativity wise and the PT room for the most part was fuck free FM and thankful for a full XM show.

that is why i don't understand the "lets email cbs corporate with out displeasure!" all of us subscribers at getting a better product, or at least essentially the same product. There are no "pros" for us for them being on CBS. The only CBS pros are O&A's wallets and for the comedians to sell NY gigs.

it also occurred to me today, when people are saying "Satellite radio isn't a safe place either!" that i would rather have no radio show than a CBS only radio show. If XM is ever out of the equation than so am I anyway

i thought of another reason this is good. it is something that is essential to the O&A show that it has been missing for a long, long time


O&A have an enemy again. Its now satellite v. terrestrial

think about all the great O&A stuff, it was when they were going against something like Howard. Being on both platforms, they had to be team players for both, but i remembered today that it was fun when they were a satellite show and they could talk about how shitty all terrestrial radio is. And i loved the "Jocktober" thing and the bad radio shows here and there, but now they have a real personal anger towards terrestrial and that is where O&A really shine. This really is a good scenario for us listeners

I like the xm only broadcast. I first started listening the them when they were exclusively on XM and kind of felt burned when they started doing the CBS show. They always seemed more constrained and forced to plug movies and other things. Once they dedicated a whole week to plugging the Cloverfield movie.

I love that they are back to XM only, I started listening to them when they first came to XM and loved the show. I didn't mind the FM/XM show but IMHO it was never as good as the XM only. I understand them being bummed out about having a smaller audience now, but from my own selfish point of view I am loving the fact that they are out of KROCK.

Also, not hearing Opie bitch about the shitty equipment will be great.

An edited version simulcasted would be fine, but I will be disappointed if it's another watered down half of the show.

Today's show reminded me of how much I loved the XM shows of the past. I never really complained about the CBS shows, but I really loved being able to listen to an uncensored show that didn't have forced breaks and then an intermission.

lets look at todays show

first break was an hour and a half

the show established them as an underdog. they fought with corporate bosses. fought against the more popular radio show

this was the o&a show that we all loved. to ask for more wouldve been greedy

and i'm saying that with the perspective that Howard really didn't say anything wrong, but still...its good to hear O&A be the "odd guys out" at their company and to fight with people again, its an important part of their show

gotta respect their desire to make both work. But the CBS show has always blown.

The walkovers were good including the smackdown that got the producer fired and the cake stomping. But it was rare that the show was ever good outside of XM....

There is no doubt they will have more time to create a better show.

I started listening again after the switch back to XM. Outside of Anthony still being an idiot, the quality has drastically improved. And to be fair, Gramps has toned it down a lot.
