I haven't seen anyone talk about it here, but the US and China have been at odds for a few days over an incident (http://uk.reuters.com/article/worldNews/idUKTRE52B1VF20090312?feedType=RSS&feedName=worldNews) where the Chinese surrounded one of our subs and China is claiming we provoked it by tracking their ships, and the Chinese are saying we were in their waters, and the military disagrees.
Will this thing escalate?

You and I both. I've wanted an excuse to kick those anti-Tibet cocksuckers in their ass.

Their Generals are. China has gone untested since before WWII, but if you count those who volunteered and crossed the boarder during the Korean war they'd still be largely untested. What better way to prove you are a super power than to go up against the US.

I fucked up by putting this in the Lounge, but I agree. I think they are looking to kick some ass and take over this part of the world.

We'll fight them, and feel good about it for a while, but then we'll want to fight them some more in about an hour.
Good job obama, bush only invades a couple of defenseless middle eastern countries but you have to pick a fight with china, Im pretty sure we are still outnumbered.

They will not stand a chance, the M1A1 is nearly unstoppable and we'll bash their tanks to hell. Our Navy and Air Force is the best ever. After that it's just a bunch of Chinese with guns.

But look how we are having difficulty in Iraq. The only thing I think we would win by would be if we nuked em, but I doubt we ever would. How would we engage them anyway? Land, sea or air? If they went terrorist style on us, I am sure we would lose easy. Plus, I doubt Obama would want any war, no matter what issue or cause or event.

Of course Obama would not want war, neither would I. Hell, the Iraq war is just wrong, worse so than Vietnam.
The Iraq thing is a very different war, as is the war in Afghanistan because we are not fighting conventional troops. Look how quickly we got to Baghdad when the Iraq war began, that was conventional. When fighting gorilla troops it is a lot more difficult because they can blend in and do not always use traditional weapons.

I DO NOT trust the global ambitions of the Chinese government and military. I am unashamedly satisfied and proud of the US status as the lone superpower and the need to stay that way.
With all the spending going on, you know what's his name is eventually going to start dicking around with my carrier groups, submarine forces, and strategic air power to pay for "tattoo removal for the homeless".
Just like the peanut farmer and dress spewer - they just don't get it.
