you seem to have learned religion in a frightening setting.

just know that not all religion is based in hellfire and damnation.
i learned that by shopping around and finding my own religious views as an adult.

i do agree that children shouldn't be boxed in to one line of thought so early... it's nicer when parents take the time to teach them about world religions and culture. but that doesn't always happen, unfortunately.

what you haven't learned in your lifetime and on your path of finding yourself is that it is important to accept other people's opinion and not always impose yours or what has worked for you in your life on others.
It's one thing to comment how you feel or think about something, it's another to condemn anybody thinking or feeling differently than you.
You may not intend for that but it always comes across that way.

I am not religious nor do I believe in any of it or ever have, yet I would never tell a person that does find strength and comfort in believing in god or any religion at all that they are wrong or dumb for doing so.

I don't find it bad to suggest to people that looking deep inside of themselves, instead church or the bible. I think if more people found value inside themselves the world would be filled with awesome amazing people that don't need crutches to move through life.
