Recent murder/suicides

There have been a recent spat of murder-suicides lately and I wonder if these are related to the economy and the bale out deals and IGA etc. What do you think?
I remember hearing about how in the great depression people were jumping out the windows. In these cases, people are taking out their whole families. How does anyone rationalize killing their family because of financial woes? I can see offing yourself though.

While it is sad, I must say that I feel America is pussified much more nowadays compared to the 10 years the depression lasted last time. I'm sure more of this kind of thing will happen. These big bank executives hanging themselves I have no sorrow for. I have sorrow for the fam members and any victims that get sucked in.

Especially the children. They were innocent to the entire issue.

I think in some cases, people who kill their entire families and themselves are thinking they are doing them a favor. Better to be together in heaven than go through the mess that the killer thinks they are in.

I too have been rocked by the bale out deals and can understand their choice to end it all.

My hay piles are being decimated, and I don't know how much longer I can live with it.

Most of these murder suicides coincide with the beginning of Spring and the month of April in particular. They're copying Columbine, right down to the timing of it all. Unoriginal pricks.

People were killing their families before the recession too

i think they have sealed all the windows in financial district since then.

Huge miniseries from the early 80s - a lot of 40-somethings today only know about it becasue it was required viewing in a lot of middle and high schools.

a teacher i was pretty close to killed his wife and himself the week before i graduated high school...more than 10 years ago.

i'm pretty sure he did it because he foresaw the economic downturn.

actually, he was a bee keeper...now i'm thinking he was actually waxing prophetic about cell phones.
