This was the first wall-to-wall beautiful weekend of 2009. So I ask, what did you do this weekend?
Here's my list:
Friday night - tested out the new BBQ grill with some hot dogs, watched the Rangers and Yankees game, then listened to the What show.
Saturday - Slept in a little, then proceeded to dismantle a water feature that the previous homeowners had. I then disposed of the water feature at the dump, then sodded over the hole that the water feature left.
We then went to Home Depot, and got paint for the spare room/nursery, and while we were there, I saw a patio set that was on sale for 50% off, so I bought it.
I washed my truck, returned the extra sod and top soil to the nursery, and then showered and we had dinner at a place that Angrymissy recommended, and had drinks on the patio.
Sunday - Had a quick breakfast, then went out and cut the lawn. Weeded the patio, and then started building the patio set I bought from Home Depot the day before. I finished the patio furniture construction while Liz started painting the spare room.
I then sprayed weed killer on the patio and the cracks in the sidewalk, moved the furniture out, watered the sod, shared a beer with my neighbor, and finished watching the NASCAR race, (Holy shit, Carl Edwards).
My parents came over for a bit, and we turned on the AC because it was too freaking hot.
Now I'm sitting comfortably, watching baseball.
And you did...?
Dude!

Then I woke up early on Saturday to run some errands in the city and walk around the park.

I bought two tickets to Barcelona for June. And then today walked around Boston, then got a 90 minute massage.
Finished the night off by eating a grass-fed hangar steak off the grill and sitting by a fire pit.

I hung out with the wife and kid all weekend.Friday night we went to The Lucky Dill Deli. It's the closest thing we have to a real NY deli.
Saturday we went off shore fishing for grouper and came home with three large gags.We had several that were too small to keep.
Sunday the kid went to church with a friend so mom and I went back to bed. Then I felt like I had to do something responsible so I cleaned out the garage and trimmed the hedges. We finished off the weekend by having bar b que chicken, fresh silver queen corn, and green beans.

on friday i worked & then straightened up the apartment cause dino's brother was suppsed to stop by for the first time.
friday night we were supposed to go to dinner but his brother bailed on us, so we got drive thru burger king & ate quickly before dino fell asleep on the floor after working a 40 hour shit that is highly illegal.
saturday i worked all day outside at a softball double header. i have a wedding next week so i had to hide in the dug out to stay out of the sun cause i don't want any wacky tan lines. then i brought dino dinner at the hospital around 11pm cause he was on call.
today i just lounged around until dino woke up around 5:30 & then his brother actually showed up so we went out to dinner.
i guess since i work outside almost everyday spring - fall i am not so affected by a weekend like this. but it was 91 degrees yesterday & that's way too hot for this time of year.
& unfortunately i had to be outside all damned day on thursday when it was 44 degrees & windy as shit.

Friday night - worked a baseball game
Saturday - gave the cat a bath, got my hairs cut and then came to work for the spring football game followed by a baseball game
Sunday - Church, a quick breakfast and then, yep, another baseball game
Friday afternoon I went to Casa Mono (http://www.casamononyc.com/aboutus_casamono.cfm)with a couple of coworkers and gorged on tapas and wine.
Saturday, Randi and I looked at wedding halls (we're thinking Greentree (http://www.greentreeclub.com/) in New Rochelle), then cooked burgers on the grill.. the secret is herbed butter in the middle of the patty.
Sunday I went to the Chinese buffet and ate way too much. The evening was spent babysitting her four year-old niece.

I looked at Greentree when I got married (I got married in New Rochelle) and it was my second choice. We ended up @ Surf Club down teh street because Jeff coerced them into giving us a better deal.

Film Forum Members Spring Bunch! Free bagels and free movies!
I was snubbed by the fundraiser but the Harold Lloyd picture with live piano and original score made it all worthwhile.
P.S. - Harold Lloyd is no Keaton or Chaplin.

Thursday - started drinking at lunch, helped cousin with deck repair, went out and had drinks till 2am.
Friday - golf then engagement party - drinks
Saturday - lake and drinks at lunch - out till 4am
Sunday - got completely shit faced watching NASCAR race and passed out in the sun.
Now - I probably have the worst sunburn possible and only wonder how burn victims cope. My liver hates me

Friday - What Show
Saturday - realized I was dieting too hardcore when I blacked out for 5 full seconds every time I stood up. Went to Port Jefferson, walked around, ate some brussels sprouts cooked w/ bacon and cream over pork (take THAT diet). Bought loose teas.
Sunday - Getting flooring replaced upstairs and saving money by ripping out old nasty carpet ourselves. Spent entire day moving everything from upstairs to downstairs. Feel like I want to die today.

I'm not sure how much Surf Club is, but Greentree is $75 a plate for Sunday and Surf Club is probably more than that. Also, we're only expecting 75-100 and I bet Surf Club has a higher minimum.

It varied really, really widely. Surf Club quoted me 150 minimum with something like $135/pp, then Jeff walked in and came out with $75 and 100 minimum. Greentree is beautiful though and a little less (how do I put this) "ginzo" than Surf Club. All of the places on that strip down there are pretty nice.
I know people who have paid $225 a plate at Surf Club AND Greentree, back in 2002ish.

Friday: I took care of clients art needs, we ( the husband and I )did french homework and I made a great stew for dinner ( most likely the last stew until fall)
Saturday: We tilled our garden, de-rocked the grown and made it flat put up our greenhouse that we started last weekend. Ran to home depot 3 times for brackets, drill bits and organic mulch and cocoa shells.
Sunday: We slept in, did more french homework. Made sure the greenhouse was still standing, went to a bike store to get some stuff to prepare our bikes for the summer. Made a Mexican feast for dinner and reviewed french homework.
