I may find myself in Chicago on July 4 weekend. While I am there I am hoping to get to a Cubs game. I am seeking advice from any Chicagoans about getting into a game.
Are tickets hard to get? I am not looking for box seats, bleacher seats are fine. Shall I buy tickets online ahead of time or can I wait till game day (probably Sunday)? Should I get tickets from a scalper? The game is against the Brewers so I should expect to see a few Brewer fans there, not sure sure how crowded a typical game is.
I get to Atlanta every now and then but it's very easy to get Braves tickets, how hard is it to get into a Cubs game?
Thanks in advance for any help:smile:

Not really. You should be able to find tickets on Addison, Clark or W-ville.

Thanks Razor, I will do that. I also see that Mollys is only a mile and a half away, that would make my Chicago trip complete.

When I went a few summers ago when they played the phillies, I was able to get bleacher seats for sat and sun at the the ticket office.

Yeah, check online, there's usually bleacher seats for games in the middle of the season unless it's against the Cards, Mets, Brewers, White Sox or a big AL team in town. The trick if you're going with anyone else is you need to plan on getting there around two hours before the gate opens at the very least, especially on a holiday weekend, if you expect on sitting together in the bleachers. Bleacher seats are not assigned and it's first come first served and if you aren't there early you are not sitting with anyone going with you.

Thanks Mojo, I just was not sure of the usual crowd for a typical game. It varies from city to city and I did not know the demand of tickets, especially for the Cubs at home on July 4 weekend against a local rival. I am travelling with my wife, she enjoys the game as well.
When I travel, which is rare anymore, I like to catch the local baseball team, minor or major, just so I can be there, I love baseball and would love to see Wrigley. When I was in Baltimore it was a tough ticket, but I got in to Camden. So great and fun.

Yeah, I love seeing games whenever I travel and baseball season is on. No matter the team or the stadium, it's always a great time.

Get there early no matter what. If you are going to a new field, there is nothing better than getting there early, walking around the park, watching BP and just enjoying the atmosphere. Wrigley is especially great for sight seeing.

One other thing to keep in mind at Wrigley is to make sure you ask if the seats are "obstructed view". In this old stadium, there are tons of seats right behind a support pole that will prevent you from seeing the action.

Bump!
Hey Mojo - I am driving to Chicago for the weekend next weekend. Cubbies v Phillies on Sat afternoon, and everything is sold down to singles for the game.
Buy on StubHub and get ripped off? Or get there 2 hours early and buy from scalpers?
