I was going to say that the movies take time to develop to get to the best scenes.

No matter how much you like them, you need to give the time to the movie.

iPods, cars, concerts, in your house. The outlets for listening to music is nearly limitless.

You need to have a larger screen to view a movie or to go to the theatre. The cost alone of a movie versus a CD is one reason.

But, I can't enjoy a great movie on a 2.5" screen.

A lot of movies take me back to when I watched it.

Anytime I watch Rudy I think back to high school football.

To this day when I see the Movie "Spy's Like Us" I think back to waiting in the theater with my dad to see that film.

Just as a collarary to what Ron was saying, that no society as not had music, no society has not had stories in some form. Movies are just one form of it, akin to theater or plays or even rituals that playact certain myths, etc.

I absolutely love movies, but the last few years have shown me that I can't live without music. I have seen very few movies after my kids were born. But I've listened to a lot of music.

Why should they discount their tastes? In your mind your favorite album is the best album in the world. If artwork is completely inaccesible to someone what good will it do them to listen to it?

My question is really isn't there an actualization for people about the quality of a film or an album? I'll give you an example:

I like the movie "Highlander". Its one of those movies I've seen a hundred times and will always stop the remote when I run across it. While I really like it, I will not claim that it's "great" because of the enjoyment I get from it, rather I realize that its "low art" that is just designed for fun. There is no "greatness" in the art, rather its just fun.

I can take this application to "The Dark Knight" or a Weezer album. They are what they are. They aren't "great" and shouldn't be confused with "high art".
