so?

Of course there is no Shinto day or Hindu day. Only Islam is now officially recognized by the government.

Aren't most board characters funny or at least slightly interesting at some point before they completely peter out? You've managed to do neither.

Time to find a new gimmick, lordjezo. You've definitely run this one into the ground.

That's what you hope will happen to all conservatives.

Coming on this board is like venturing over to the Democratic Underground website. It's a hard pointless fight.

Hopefully this news will hit drudge in the coming days and the public will be made more aware.

See what I mean? I totally expected this response. There's no more "surprise" or "excitement" in your posts or replies. Every one knows what's coming.

And I'm starting to think you've actually lost the passion for this character. I think its time to move on.

I'll approach this as though I'm talking to an actual human being instead of a particularly lame board character. I know I'll be disappointed though.

Do you actually know any Muslims, or do you just know what Michael Savage says about them?

Oddly enough, I find that the more Moslems someone actually knows, the less likely they are to spout nonsense like this.

For my part, I've actually been to prayer services at the mosque in this town. I saw no evidence of plotting for bombings, no one being trained to be a suicide bomber. Of course, it could have all been hidden before I got there, but I kinda doubt it.

This has nothing to do with Muslims in particular, this is concerning a state government putting one religion ahead of another and official recognizing it in a special way that others do not get.

Then you would've seen the members here go nuts, Jezo.

I must agree, pickin a date 2 weeks removed from 9/11 is bad form....(unless there is some significance to 9/24 i.e. Ramadan)

Actually, a huge part of the world has been celebrating that day for thousands of years and its brought to us by God.

But poking fun at Christmas is fun and trendy, so have at it.

What's the problem? They're peace-loving and very tolerant people.
Screw Hindus and their 'happiness' and 'not blowing stuff up'.

Doesn't Florida have choose life license plates?

It thought Christmas was brought to us by Santa Claus?

I don't think trendy means what you think it means.

Uhm.....Do u even try to make sense anymore ?

It all made sense to me (except for me typing "It" instead of "I").

One state has already chosen a "state" religion. Florida has STATE plates with christianity symbolism on it.

And poking fun a Christmas isn't "trendy". There's been such a fucking backlash over the last couple of years about "happy holidays" and that shit.

If anything, acting like somehow christians are being persecuted and treated badly is trendy.

I thought liberals were secular, attacking all religions.
Is your position now that Liberals are embracing religion?

Please try to take a consistent stance.

However, I agree, no religious day should be a government holiday. And any mention of god should be removed from our government buildings, money, ceremonies, etc.

Only Islam is recognized by the government? What about Judaism and Christianity? Your problem with attacking state support of Islam is that you than must attack state support for the judeo-christian religions as well.

What are your other board names?

In the scheme of a 2000 year old religion, I would say the last 20 years would could be considered " trendy".

Maybe in a YouTube obsessed life , anything older than 45 minutes would be too old to be trendy.

But its not happening anymore.

Using your example, we could say that 80s hair metal is trendy, because it happened 20 years ago.

And the religion is only about 1700 years old.

Your hurting my brain.

20/1700 years of a religion = 20/60 years of rock music.

must be that new math, before my time......you know, that trendy arithmetic.

nope, only rosh hashanna and yom kippur, and thats because all the teachers were calling out anyway. the only reason we get off for passover is because it is so close to easter. Very rarely are we off for hannukah, and never for holidays like purim, shavuot, sukkot, lag b'omer, etc.

No shit? Well spring break is usually based around easter as well as winter vaca with christmas. I know theres more but since spring vacation is based around easter they also get good friday off. its not that far of a stretch to expect muslim holidays or a "muslim day" to happen in the states. its not about putting one religion in front of others. just they all get recognized i guess. it doesnt bother me either way.

Wasn't Christmas created by the church to combat the pagan solstice?

I mean, Jesus was born in the spring...

I don't understand the original point Jezo is trying to make. Jezo, if you went to a supermarket, and they had Duracell and Energizer batteries for the exact same price, which brand would you purchase and why?
