Red Knuckle Knot

Hello Dr. Steve! For the last 3 years, once a year, I get a lil bump on my right pointer finger. It's on the right side of my upper knuckle. When I push on it, it feels hard and a little sore. It also gets a little red and it's hard to close that finger. It usually last for a few days. Any help would be appreciated! I'm not really worried about it, but it really makes me curious. I used to get one of those, too. I finally picked the damn thing off and it never came back. It's most likely due to something you've touched causing a delayed allergic reaction, or could even be a callous, I guess, from some repetitive motion you're doing.

Putting some cortisone cream on it the instant you notice it starting and applying it three times a day for a few days will prove whether it's the first thing...if it goes away, it's an allergic reaction to something.
