More so Inky never ran it really(his famous words are 'I don't give a shit), Doug obviously stopped caring, so you had a ton of Indians w/ buttons and no chief to lead them. It was a cluster fuck of over zealous button pushers moving, deleting, editing, and doing verbal warnings in bold size 8 yellow fonts constantly. I hated Gaz on there, but get along w/ him fine here. I later learned he was basically the only mod there who defended me.

Really? Because I always figured it was simpler than that. The "I don't like it " answer. Which is a fine enough answer, I just don't know why people aren't more upfront about what they don't like (things involving the show aside, don't hit me!).
My whole point was that there's way too many lame board fights over stuff on the board, way too many threads about posters on the board, and way too much overanalyzing of stuff on the show to the point where it's borderline creepy.

i have to disagree,i signed up on 2 boards the same same day,here and fba,i visited more there cuz the people were alot more welcoming to me,i was there less than 2 months before it died but the small group of us in the rf listening threads (who all came here) had a good time enjoying the show together.i also think the bomb shelter has run its course but i deal with that by not posting in it

It is not fully FBA until Mikey tosses me the keys, and I burn the place down, deleting it member by member, forum by forum, until, poof, it's gone. Smartest thing that doug ever did.
Yes, they were getting shut down anyway, some just made it happen much faster.

fba and dot net are pretty much the same. sorry kids, but thats the way it is. same kind of haters, same kind of thread starters, same kinds of people. i joined both boards at the same time, and guess what? fba was soooooo much more kinder to newcomers than .dot was then, and seems to still be, compaired to how net is now. its also funny that dot net seems to complain about alot of shit. this board is fucking complainy as hell. why pick on fba for being venomous lol its almost as if you just hearing shit and not having personal experience. of course there is no board now to have experience so all you have is hearing shit. its like a bad breakup and all you are remembering is the bad stuff so you disparage it to make yourself feel better about where you are.
i thought about things like that and decided to give dont net another try, and found 2 years later it was as snobby and as insular and non welcoming as ever. the listening thread was not welcoming, people saying shit like the fba people that are here are 'the good ones' lol. i wont get into things like thread deleting and over modding and sig limitations cause thats how ya wanna run it so hey. i decided to hang around anyway cause a few fba buddays have been led here and ive made some new friends here as well, so fuck it. you find the coolness in the wackness.

I loved FBA. That place was a shithole. I was there from the start and it was a fucking zoo of assfaces and fun.
I miss it sometimes. But, not the mantown era.... Although I never hated it... I just never understood it.

I was a big FBAer up until 2-3 months before it imploded. Struff changed some topics and I went ape shit, got a temp banning, and then 2 weeks before it died I left FBA.
There is a difference between FBA and .net; .net has people who actually care about it running. At FBA you had Struff and one other asshole trying to censor the board so O&A may recognize it again. This led to a ton of infighting, pissed off people, and some of us left.
This place does not censor or act all wackbagish like FBA was doing making .net a better place to express yourself.

FBA might have still been around if it wasn't for the repeated crashing of the site
for those that don't know, the website would crash and 3 months of posts would be lost at a time. The first time it happened was when the site was fresh and eveyrone was eager to rebuild. The second time it happened people just tolerated it. The 3rd time it happened was right after the board was redone to have a bunch of new forums (which a lot of people) dug and the board was back to square 1. that made most people leave. The last time was the time the board died
but i remember hearing .net-ers say they wouldn't ever post on FBA because it was scary and mean but if they can tolerate this board as it is today than FBA would've been a piece of cake, if not more embracing.
I remember one thing we did that might help alot of the problems is we'd have a thread that we'd move asshole posts into. So if someone was being negative or a dick or ruining a thread, we'd just take those posts out and put it into a giant thread that people could read or not. So we weren't censoring in that anything could stay up there but we were keeping the threads on topic and hopefully keeping the board fun and easier to read

I remember one thing we did that might help alot of the problems is we'd have a thread that we'd move asshole posts into. So if someone was being negative or a dick or ruining a thread, we'd just take those posts out and put it into a giant thread that people could read or not. So we weren't censoring in that anything could stay up there but we were keeping the threads on topic and hopefully keeping the board fun and easier to read
just throwing that idea out there
